The Yamaha had a mild tendency to shake its head exciting the banking at 220km/h or so, which the Suzuki did not. I’d rather it hit the needle directly and get atomized more evenly, especially since the XR’s have a split runner to both intake valves.

I personally think that the 93 Blue and white 750 is the prettist bike out there but I am sure many of you disagree but,I am sure just as many would disagree when I say the the 95-98 1100's were the best performing. A pumper carb wont necessarily make more power on its own as a carb upgrade, although some would argue the smoothbore internal design and lack of central choke plate blocking airflow is a big benefit. Clutches and gearboxes on both bikes worked faultlessly under the abusive conditions of acceleration testing, each surviving 10 runs unscathed, Undercut shift dogs are among the changes to the Yamaha's gearbox; it's a major improvement over the '87 model which suffered problems during our long-term test. Honda has stepped out of this market segment for the time being, as the handsome '89 version of the CBR1000 isn't available in Canada.
