About this deal

It’s a fairly simple matter to connect your E-M10 Mark IV to a smartphone via the OM Image Share (OI. The Mark IV version, however, adds a raft of sensible upgrades that make it unquestionably the superior choice if you have the budget to spare. However, it’s been more than three years now since the E-M10 Mark IV was announced, and time moves fast in the world of cameras.

The fact that these Olympus bodies work better (the 6 things listed above) than any APS-C I have shot with also helps seal the deal.

Fast, silent, small (in comparison to full frame and APS-C) and beautiful rich color and contrast/sharpness. The E-M10 ups the ante by pairing a 16MP Live MOS sensor with our most powerful TruePic VII image processor for extraordinary resolution and accurate color rendition. The in camera HDR , i was able to take a picture using the function that combines 4 shots at varying exposures hand held squaring down ( so no way steady), I say it takes a 1. I dont use the zooms much apart from the 12-50 which I use in wet weather occasionally for the sealing, and the primes have given me no issues whatsoever.

One reason is that the sensor with these latest OM-D cameras have a very good Dynamic Range and if you do blow the highlights they are easily recovered with the RAW file and a slider or two, even under extreme blow outs. With a built-in viewfinder, dual control wheels and number of customizable controls, it's aimed for the photographer who wants to take some control over shooting settings, though it does have an Auto mode for shooters not yet ready to take that step. I would just like to know what ‘mode’ you shot the photos for this review in or is that a trade secret! Olympus has stripped away a lot of features in the meantime, and produced a rather different camera. If I could take a third lens, I would add the Oly 60mm macro, which is the best bargain lens in Olympus’ lineup. Beginners should find it as easy to use as the Canon EOS M50 Mark II or Canon EOS R50, but its twin-dial design provides a significant advantage for those who’d like to take more control.
