I absolutely love how Dav Pilkey manages to change up the narrative of every Dog Man with a new and creative addition. When Grampa invents the Motor Brain, Big Jim sings Itsy Bitsy Spider, which Grampa finds annoying and yells at him, Big Jim starts crying, then Grampa says he needs his help to test the Motor Brain, after which Big Jim tests it and becomes Snug.This author has a vast fan following among little kids and I don't think that's the best lesson there for them.

I would've rated it higher if I was younger, I mean, I'm getting older, and this book, is just too childish for me now, but a few years ago, I would've enjoyed this a lot, and I used to read Dog Man a lot, but now, nope. This hero is the result of an explosion that nearly killed a hard-working policeman and his loyal police dog. Petey feels happy and at peace that he has chosen to finally let go of the hatred he held for Grampa.Pick up this graphic novel and treat yourself to 200+ pages of Dog Man and friends, plus some high-brow literary references and drawing tips. I really didn't care for them (maybe because I am a female) but continued reading because they developed a love of reading for my 8 yr old male pupil and isn't that the reason for literature. When Petey was a kitten, he was abusive towards him, seeing as he described young Petey as a "crybaby" when he met him again as an adult. Mayor, watching television coverage of the events from home, realizes that Cat Man is in fact Dog Man and rushes to arrest Dog Man and all of the cops, including Chief, who were aiding Dog Man. The comics also point to the fact that loss and grief can sometimes go hand in hand and impact us in ways that we don’t even recognize.

I love this series and will continue to "accidentally" give the books to her kids every chance I get. In the adaptations, their personalities are mostly unchanged, but they now usually only prank to entertain their schoolmates and treat Captain Underpants more as a friend than a last resort.On October 20, 2011, it was reported that DreamWorks Animation had acquired rights to make an animated feature film based on the Captain Underpants series. Also, his transformation is the opposite; when water is splashed on him, he becomes the evil Captain Blunderpants and when someone snaps their fingers, he becomes the nice Mr. Additionally, they also tended to change the signs into evil phrases (while their counterparts often change the signs into funny words). The characters, seem to evolve through every book, but seem do the opposite of evolve, I don't know that word for that. Krupp also possesses superhuman strength, durability and flight as a result of drinking alien "Extra-Strength Super Power Juice".
