About this deal

How? Well, over time, lightened sections of brunette hair can turn brassy and the colour fades. This can occur especially in balayage or ombre hair, or if the hair has been dyed multiple times before. The hair can often become dry and damaged and reveal the underlying pigments which are warmer and more yellow/orange in hue. Of course, some people will like this tone, however, if you don’t, purple shampoo on brunette hair can be your saviour to take out any unwanted warm tones in your hair. I also left the shampoo on longer than the recommended 5 minutes to see if it made a difference to the end result. My hair was very dry, and frizzy even though I had styled it the same and didn’t feel particularly clean. The secret’s out! Our purple shampoos aren’t just for blondes. Get the lowdown on using our Touch Of Silver products to make your brunette look amazing too.

Natural silver hair tends to be dryer and more porous than hair that still has its former colour, so it can be more prone to absorbing molecules from the environment that leave it looking yellow and dull. Because it’s pale to begin with, natural white-silver hair also tends to show yellow deposits more than coloured hair. Smoke, chlorine, dust, dirt and even sunlight can deposit yellow tones that, over time, appear dirty and dull. A silver shampoo not only removes dirt and cleans the hair shaft, it also deposits a violet-blue pigment that cancels out yellow, leaving natural silver hair looking cleaner and brighter. Both natural and dyed silver hair will benefit from a monthly treatment masque or glossing treatment, to help add shine as well as freshening up colour. Natural silver hair will benefit from a silver shampoo once or twice a week to maintain a brighter silver tone. Dyed silver hair can be washed with a silver shampoo once a week. Alternate with your colour care shampoo to avoid rinsing out dyed colour. Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Superdrug, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them.I’m a true advocate for purple Shampoo. I have a go to brand that I use regularly, knowing it works well and does what it says on the tin-neutralises orange/yellow tones and refuses brassiness. For added shine, heat protection, and deeper nourishment, use our Touch Of Silver Leave-in Conditioner before drying. Simply spray onto wet or towel dried hair. The pro-vitamin B5 formula will help to make your hair smoother and more manageable after just one wash. Home hair colour specialist Bleach London has been keeping the heads of fashionable young things colourful for a decade – and this vegan and cruelty-free silver shampoo deposits cool violet pigments onto bleached, toned hair to keep dyed silver colour shining at its brightest. Suitable for anything from hip slate-grey granny hair to ash or platinum blonde, this toning shampoo is formulated with wheat protein, castor oil and vitamin B5 to moisturise bleached hair and keep it silky and soft. Follow with the Silver Conditioner in the same range for an extra toning and a conditioning boost.

After the first use of Pro:voke purple shampoo, I was disappointed with how my hair looked and felt. When I have used the shampoo again, I have washed my hair with my normal shampoo first, to get a proper wash and clean.Again not much difference and very subtle. I will keep using the product to see if regular use has more of an effect but not too keen as it has a strong scent, like most purple shampoos.
