The recommended and maximum dose is 110 micrograms as 1 spray in each nostril once daily (see sections 4.4 and 5.1). Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start using this medication and each time you get a refill. Follow the illustrated directions for the proper use of this medication. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Systemic effects of nasal corticosteroids may occur, particularly when prescribed at high doses for prolonged periods.

If you're taking a high dose for a long time, there's also a small chance you could get some of the side effects of steroid tablets, such as increased appetite, mood changes and sleeping problems (insomnia). This medication is for use in the nose. Follow the directions on your prescription or product label. This medication works the best if used regularly. Do not use more often than directed. Make sure that you are using your nasal spray correctly. Ask your care team if you have any questions. Nasacort Allergy should not be used for longer than 1 month continuously without consulting a doctor. Using a steroid nasal spray too much over a long period can increase your risk of getting side effects. Stopping treatmentNASACORT does not have an immediate effect on allergic signs and symptoms. An improvement in some patient symptoms may be seen within the first day of treatment with NASACORT and relief may be expected in 3 to 4 days. When NASACORT is prematurely discontinued symptoms may not recur for several days. You can usually drink alcohol while using a steroid nasal spray and you do not normally need to avoid any particular foods. Who can use steroid nasal sprays It's important to use your spray regularly, even if you're feeling better. It will only help if it's used every day. If you miss a dose or take too much

Systemic effects of nasal corticosteroids may occur, particularly when prescribed at high doses for prolonged periods. Growth retardation has been reported in children receiving intranasal steroids. Nasacort Allergy 24HR is used to treat sneezing, itching, and runny or stuffy nose caused by seasonal allergies or hay fever.Treatment with higher than recommended doses may result in clinically significant adrenal suppression. If there is evidence of using higher than recommended doses then additional systemic corticosteroid cover should be considered during periods of stress or elective surgery. Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Nasacort: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
