About this deal

A few reviewers have questioned whether it is all true as it is so outrageous, I personally think it is too outrageous NOT to be true - to imagine all this up would be no mean feat! I thought the guy was interesting, and wanted to hear the stories about Freddie Mercury and other famous rock stars I listened to growing up. Point being that at the very least you likely know that Harvey spends his summers there, manning the DJ booth on Monday nights in August and September. The books enjoyable and not a taxing read - you get the sense that some things are glossed over with not enough detail for me and I think I was hoping for a more robust dissection of Tony Pikes character and what made him tick rather than a book of anecdotes but none the less, it was an entertaining read and I would recommend for anyone with an interest in celebrity culture and hedonism.

I’ve always been fascinated about Pikes hotel having heard a lot about it during the times I’ve raved it up on the white isle but never thought to visit myself as I imagined it was strictly a place for VIPs, and I am most definitely a person who Tony would consider a ‘pleb’ hahaaa. A depressing start to the book , but he showed courage despite suffering abuse in his early years ,definitely gives a meaning to work hard play hard definitely the original playboy /party king . I felt a sadness that long standing relationships were almost a disposable commodity for a promised land that didn't exist.

But for all his faults, there was still something human and likeable about him, and there’s no disputing his ambition, drive and work ethic.

Dubbed the Hugh Hefner of Ibiza, Tony Pikes created a celebrity paradise, which was visited by the likes of Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Kylie Minogue, Julio Iglesias, and more.Whether or not you approve of his womanising, drug taking, and wheeler-dealer lifestyle, there’s no denying Ibiza legend Tony Pike lived his 85 years to the full. Well done Tony fantastic book, like the Wolf of Wall Street before it I hope your story gets made into a film, it would be epic! A book was recently released discussing the life and times of one of Ibiza's most prolific figures, a worthy tale not often told. Mr The Story Behind The Ibiza Legend presents a raw, unfiltered look at a success story unlike any other. Under Tony’s management it soon became a glamorous celebrity bolthole for the likes of Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones, Julio Iglesias and perhaps most famously, George Michael.

El conta a so storia e noialtri che semo tutti dei mona se alzemo la mattina presto per un casso de lavoro e niente mone foreste. Ibiza legend who founded legendary celeb hangout Pikes Ibiza and helped turn island into party paradise. I’m always interested in stories like this and there are some truly brilliant anecdotes in here (and some shocking ones too). To me Tony Pike comes across as a warm individual with a lot of love to give ,to both men and women of the world, and although I was in Ibiza my one big regret is that I didnt visit Pikes .Unfortunately i found myself getting very bored after the 8 gazillion mentions of how many women he’s slept with, how big and amazing his cock was and his sexual double standards on women that cheated on him. The constant references to birds, knockers, good sorts and shagging his mates girlfriends could be a little bit wearing for some, especially in the current climate as an attempt is quite rightly being made to clear out the casual and not so casual sexism that has plagued society since ever. Despite being written in a somewhat clunky, basic way, and being peppered with crude references told in Tony’s own words, this book is endlessly intriguing. Calming things down involved larking about with Freddie Mercury through the ups and downs of Mr Fahrenheit’s later life, beefing with the local Ibicenco plod until Julio Iglesias put a word in and bringing the now ubiquitous Sunseeker yachts to the island for the first time.I'm sure there are many people that would frown on the persona of Tony Pike , but I found his account of his life honest and refreshing. If you are looking for a book that shares the beauty of Ibiza and the pleasures of vicariously living through Tony Pike’s experiences you will walk away frustrated.
