With Martha’s chapters told in the first person and the rest of the story in the third, I felt as though I were being drawn in to Martha’s world and as events unfolded I had more questions needing answers. This is the tenth book in the Tom Douglas series and this one is every bit as good as the previous nine, if not better.

As always the book centres around the victim of the crime and whilst this is a DCI Tom Douglas book, the story is primarily told through Martha.Then, of course, we have our eponymous hero Tom Douglas, the kind of policeman we would all want on our side. One again, Rachel Abbott is back to her superlative best with, Close Your Eyes and I can thoroughly recommend it.
