Lively notes of ripe apricot and yellow fruits are combined with an intense nose of flowers and mild spices. Thomas Hine, from Dorset, was something of an adventurer who found himself in southwest France during the French Revolution at the end of the 18th century. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. Hine selects its eau-de-vie exclusively from the top Crus of grande and Petite Champagne in the very heart of the Cognac region.

Our British founder, Thomas Hine, chose the emblematic stag to represent Hine, most likely because of the analogy between the words Hine and hind. Homage XO is a blend of more than twenty eaux-de-vie, mostly aged in Hine’s cellars in Jarnac, but including four Early Landed single vintages: 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1987. The liquid is then separated from the ‘almond mulch’ giving on the one hand almond flavoured brandy and on the other alcoholic almonds. This finesse is the result of two key choices made during the manufacturing of the barrels: the selection of wood with a very fine grain and the light toasting it then receives.
