About this deal

It is not a long time performer and I don't even remember what the dry down smells like as once it fades it really disappears. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons. What amazes me is that this fragrances came out in 1994, yet it's so decidedly modern to me, or at least it's so decidedly not DATED. I do like some green scents, I'm not sure if this is even supposed to be a green scent, but that's what I smell. Like and not a love for me only because I wish it had a bigger scent bubble - it sits quite close to the skin and and stops just short of creating an air of cleanliness around you.

Recommendation: There are many good tobacco fragrances in the market that provide superior performance, this is one is average. It won't knock anyone's socks off with the scent, but it's a nice, well-mannered gentlemanly frag with a bit of southern European nostalgia. It made me feel like I was standing in a giant cigar humidifier with the finest spices piled up in it as well. This is a true 90's holdover (like Acqua Di Gio), but in my mind it's a classic, even though the scent doesn't last as long as some would like. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. This fragrance has slowly become my favourite to wear around the house on a day off or on a day working from home.

I see it more as a warm weather fragrance, but can be worn in cooler temps because of that tobacco note, though it’s probably too light for winter. There's neroli, mandarin, bergamot, a vague citrus accord, some pepper (but not too much) and tonka bean. Sure there are minor differences to the 1994 original release but the differences are primarily concerning depth and complexity but the Made in France is really good enough and its the nearest version to the vintage. One spray of the made in Germany formation and I am still catching whiffs of it in the air over 10 hours later.

probably some greenery in there, it has a fresh breezy aspect, and I will attribute that as well to the lavender. Just an absolutely incredible clean scent, soapy but with enough depth to get noticed and complimented.

And the smell - sorry to burst your bubble, but the opening is nearly identical to the UK and Germany formulations. I think it is more of a warm weather frag but it held up very well in the freezing cold of where I live. Moderate projection these days, but still a good 7-8 hours of stunning citrus, pepper, wood (and a hint of tobacco) vibes. To my nose smells very similar, if not exactly like the vintage formula I wore in the 90’s and early 2000’s.It can come off as fresh, it can also come off as clean and soapy while always maintaining a masculine edge. the last phase is pretty much the same as the middle stage but more feint, make no mistake if your body heats up even in 6-8 hour mark people will smell it on you. overall though, the scent is appealing, smells pretty good, and actually has a bit of sweetness to it, there is some enticing quality, but it does not come off as overtly masculine or rough, in fact it could be considered a touch feminine similar in the way dior homme does that.
