i didn't enjoy the entire inclusion of the mafia but went along with it because kai, naomi's father's second hand, was a whole ass treat to read about. and the sadistic moods and lust-filled looks makes Sebastian’s bitter beast roar with revenge darkening the turbulent skies foretelling doom.

The Hero(es): Sebastian Weaver - his Grandparents raised him after his parents were killed in a car accident. To be honest here, I couldn't imagine how things will turn out for them after all and I was kind of shocked with the development, but I loved how things turned out. Years may have passed since one decision ruined their lives, but the moment Naomi and Sebastian get together there is still a dark and deliciously deviant pull between them that can’t be denied. as much as i loathed the turn of events, i just wish she wouldn't have been so goddamn hateable in this entire book. I didn’t care much for her in this book honestly her character change was the worst I’ve ever read in a while.The Akira thing threw me off a few times, I knew it wasn't what Naomi thought in the beginning of this book but I ended up being right all along (as I'm sure most people were since it's kind of obvious but the author manages to throw in a few monkey wrenches to make you doubt yourself).

Despite having some questions at the start, by the end every hurt is soothed and every detail explored to it’s conclusion, the standout being the identity of the elusive third narrator Akira. The heroine: Naomi - she was a bet between Sebastian and his friends and humiliated in front of everyone at the small college she attends.I get it that we should be sitting at the edge of our seats and see through the suspense but all these new fucking characters and relationships jump in with all that MAFIA knowledge? The Black Thorns had modified the Bristol, altering the fighter bays so that they could accommodate the additional pilots in the unit by holding additional 'Mechs and cargo within the bays.

In book one it ends with a cliffhanger, and this book continues pretty quickly from where Red Thorn leaves off, and we see what happens and then we see the consequences that Naomi’s choice between the conflict of her family and Sebastian and she has to make a difficult choice and then we skip ahead seven years into the future. this was mainly the reason why i didn't rate this book higher because i didn't enjoy reading about an affair. A special nuance of history and power exchange with the author's trademark mystery and anti-hero goodness, in the conclusion of Naomi and Sebastian's story, events occurred in their adult life after several years apart, so the beauty of this storyline was a bit of new adult / high school enemies to lovers and adult romantic fiction. Rina continues to embrace the dark and toxic in all of us- and harnesses in a way that makes it beautiful and profound.
