About this deal

Then we have the 14 missing lands from the total 16 from the Simplified Chinese Alternate Art Portal release. Next up is a hodgepodge mix of over a decades worth of cards thanks to the chaos that is the base sets. The only way to get Basic energy in that game is the same way you get basic lands in your prereleases and leagues. The scheme stopped accepting new Gurus in October 2000 and the whole thing was closed down by February 2001. It would be a lot of sets to individually visit Bant, Grixis, Jund, Naya, and Esper before the conflux but the lands would be worth it for me!

They have that nice generic feel allowing you to play them in most settings without looking out of place and they have a nice bright summery feel to them inviting you in. There is a nice flavour in these lands with a before and after for each of three locations per land type. Oh well, I'll stick with theme deck vs theme deck in that game, since building a deck from scratch in that game is much more impossible. I'll admit that I was a bit surprised at the overall pricing of energy, and it does seem like there are a lot of products that don't help build decks in a meaningful manner (look, we included a plastic toy!It is possible it was done before but without drawing any real attention to which lands are supposed to represent which guilds. I have no intention to collect the Secret Lair cards in the same way as the other lands, I just don't want to commit to something so open. The first entry on the list is one I’ve personally never seen anyone else play, but I simply adore it. I like a lot of the lands in this slide for various reasons but equally I dislike a bunch too and so I rarely play these as sets.

I like the art but I dislike the asymmetry and would rather a more even spread, especially given how few lands we have from some of those planes. Intro packs on the other hand have normally styled lands as they have appeared in the majority of large expansions. An object with the land card type and a basic land type has the intrinsic ability “{T}: Add [mana symbol],” even if the text box doesn’t actually contain that text or the object has no text box. That lack of color is also a critique by some players because it makes them harder to discern when among other similar basics of other colors. To date, there are two basic lands for each color — Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest and their snow-covered versions for white, blue, black, red, and green, respectively — and one for colorless — Wastes. They are like basic lands, only in that it is required for the game, but they serve different purposes. Worldwake felt like a subset of Zendikar but was deemed a standalone and came with the basic lands to prove it. Each of the original basics are by far the most commonly printed Magic cards overall, and many copies of one or more of them are included in many decks as the foundation for its mana base.

This post is to see what a MTG player thinks of this, and it would be cool if I hear the opinion of someone who has played both MTG and Pokemon TCG.Well, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to amazing regular Basic lands, so let’s run through some of our favorites. Next up Masques and the Euro lands - a repeat of the APAC idea with a change of continental setting.

Luckily energy decks which command that the most are many colours and pack relatively few basic lands! Effects can be more specific with "a basic Plains card" (which means Plains or Snow-Covered Plains) or, very rarely, "a card named Plains". Originally I was a snob and only had the old framed lands but there were just too many sumptuous new art only found with the new frame and so now I am the proud owner of a near complete set of basic lands for full artistic customization potential of my decks. These beauties also remind me of Unhinged since they feature so much art on the card that you think it’s a print the first time you see it.
