Vecchia Romagna Classica is produced through selection of the best grapes, the continuous distillation process and aging in fine oak barrels. It’s refreshing, light and sweet with aromas of bakewell tart and marzipan, not dissimilar to a Pedro Ximénez sherry, and is aged for 20 years. With a history spanning over two centuries, Vecchia Romagna stands as an emblem of Italian excellence in the brandy industry. Yet, at its core, the brand remains steadfast in its commitment to quality, tradition, and the timeless art of Italian distillation. This Italian brandy is distilled from the Trebbiano grape, although funnily enough the brand was actually founded by a Frenchman.

NOSE: The aroma is sweet with fragrances ranging from vanilla to crisp scents with a liquorice base note. It’s smooth and balanced on the palate, made from blending over 300 eaux-de-vie ranging from 10- to 37-year-old, creating a soft and velvety finish. As part of the Finest range – a tried-and-trusted marque of quality – the five-year-aged XO Brandy from Tesco hits the nail on the head with dried fruit aromas, smooth and mellow flavours, and oak undertones.

Smooth and seriously easy-drinking, Stara Sokolova is a seven-year-old plum brandy that combines notes of vanilla, orange and blossom to spectacular effect. Over time, the brandy acquires its amber hue and complex bouquet of aromas – from fruity notes to hints of spices and wood. The 18 Year Old Riserva from top Italian brandy range Vecchia Romagna is not only made with spirits aged for at least 18 years, but also enjoys a finishing period in casks that were previously home to Amarone della Valpolicella wine.Floral and rich, with notes of dark chocolate with orange peel, this Greek brandy offers a twist on the traditional drink. Aged for 15 years in small oak casks, it’s got a gorgeous golden hue with deep and intense flavours, while everything is presented in a spectacular glass decanter and satin-lined gift box.
