About this deal

A collection of the first six issues, titled The Nice House on the Lake Volume 1, is conveniently scheduled for release on March 15. I don’t even want to give anything away since this really does work best just going in blind, so just know each issue follows one of the twelve different characters, as Tynion puts out what will probably end up being one of his better books.

Nothing is as it seems in the nice house on the lake, and Tynion and Bueno have lived up to the reputation of their first volume with this continuation of the story. It said something to that affect on the blurb on title page and I'd have to actually agree in this case. I'll leave any further reveals to other reviewers, but suffice it to say that things go downhill just as fast as they get weird. In 2013, Tynion released his first original comic series, The Eighth Seal, for Mark Waid's digital comic publisher Thrillbent.

That same year, Tynion and Boom announced a spin-off comic to Something is Killing the Children titled House of Slaughter, co-written with Tate Brombal (and later with Sam Johns), [24] which launched to record numbers. I might check out the conclusion if only to get the answers to some of the numerous questions posed in this mostly setup book, but I still found The Nice House on the Lake, Volume 1 to be a very monotonous, overwritten and slow-moving comic. And then when you finish this first volume, you find yourself thumbing through the first few pages, thinking maybe you'll just start over again. Implying, of course, that there would be harder days ahead, which appears to be confirmed by the small caption at the bottom right of the page: " end of CYCLE ONE.

I originally had it rated at 4 stars, but then we had our liveshow discussion for the realm of comics book club and everything literally changed. Still, this has a lot of thrills and chills and it is impossible to put down as we watch the characters being manipulated while struggling to understand the reality they are trapped in. Apart from every other development, the idea that the survivors under Walter's purview aren't the only ones left is more surprising than anything else. This was supposed to be a limited 12 issue series but the ending of this leaves so many questions unresolved that I have to assume there will be more issues.until we get to the beginning of the story and see that she already had the respirator due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. the intersections of structure, the intersections of body and mind and time and place and space both outer and inner. Those who knew Walter, those who were in his circle, those he loved, all heard him ask this question.

I believe the ending of this volume is supposed to be a kind of twist, and it's more of a sigh, really. He's mindwiped his friends before when he accidentally said too much to them, and he mindwipes them again after they find Reg and Reg tries to convince them they can break out of the House and save the world. Only the lake house and its inhabitants are protected: a group of "outstanding" humans preserved by the destructive aliens to study human society and culture in perpetuity. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Walter is initially hesitant to use her plan, but after his own attempts to get them on board utterly fail (which Norah also predicted), he agrees to try it her way.Hidden Depths: As Walter points out, David can be "pretty stupid" a lot of the time, but he is a remarkably perceptive individual who understands people. Even if his alien masters aren't aware of the trouble that has been caused in Walter's ecosystem, it is only a matter of time before they are. Comparatively though, this one felt a big of a slog, starting strong and ending strong, but sort of languishing in the middle (though Dave being goofy is pretty charming). In 2016, Tynion’s partnership with Boom continued with the PRISM Award-winning comic title The Backstagers, [10] as well as at DC via the first of three Batman/ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book crossovers with DC and IDW Publishing, the first ever meeting between the two franchises.

What is all but assured, however, is that any unexpected interference would be met with a swift and gruesome hand by Walter's fellow aliens.

Human Aliens: Walter talks about what his "people" are going to do to the planet, but he appears entirely human. temos respostas (não todas) e realmente dá pra ver que o foco não são os personagens, mas uma mensagem maior subentendida ali dentro.
