About this deal

Grey, now Arthur, needs to learn everything about this new world—including magic – but first he needs to learn how to walk. As soon as he can crawl, he goes to the family's study and learns about magic, becoming adept at a very young age. Though the book really described details, the author do info dump and it is hard to make sense of sometime. Maybe it is the characters that I found so endearing and lovable, even if they were pretty simplistic. M-am îndrăgostit de protagonist încă de la prima pagină, mai mult de Grey decât de Arthur, însă acesta va avea inima mea pentru totdeauna.

Instead of the main wanting to join the prestigious Starlotus Company or something similar, the author instead has the main want to join the bland and uninteresting "Adenturers Guild". The author uses familiar tropes of training montages, finding party members, discovering lost magical equipment, encounters with mysterious entities, being separated from family in tragedy, and stumbling into a vile rival, but they don't use them very smoothly. Also, it became clear that this is gearing up for a high fantasy type of story as we get hints of higher powers and greater conflict. So now four-year-old Arthur is ready to start his first trip outside his village to discover the wonders of this new world. They are done at just the right moments so that the character can develop behind the scenes without the reader feeling frustrated. Anyway, not borrowing trouble, I think I'll round the 4½ up to five stars just for the depth of the emotional resonance in this prodigy/genius/old guy. However, I will say that I am still very much intrigued and bought the 2nd ebook immediately after finishing the first book. I can't even follow the whole Beast Tamer deal partly because I don't care but mostly I think because it's stupid.

The MC's new technique feels like a deux ex machina despite the fact that the technique could have been shown to result from the "on-page" training that the author does show us! I am at volume six, and I already skim through some explanations, since I just want to read the important parts now. It’s also a lot of fun to see his brilliant and complex thoughts often misunderstood by his parents. As the years pass, Arthur becomes more and more comfortable in this world, positioning himself as a young but respected figure. Art trains with his parents (a mage and a warrior, respectively), but soon needs more education than they can give him.

We’re so happy that the day has finally come when creator TurtleMe and his many fans can hold a physical collection in their hands…not to mention the many new fans who will now read this amazing series for the first time! Lack of stakes or tension is one of the factors that affected this novel a bit and the short length also made me feel like that's it ?Der erste Band einer Graphic Novel stellt sich recht häufig als eine etwas längere Einführung in die Geschichte dar und diese hier ist da keine Ausnahme. Satt Qi steht ihm in seiner neuen Umgebung Mana zur Vefügung, da in dieser Fantasywelt Magie praktiziert wird. In part because of that I found the plot to be pretty much straight forward and sometimes predictable which did detract from my engagement and enjoyment of the story a little bit.
