I really enjoyed this book, from the very start I was drawn into the story and literally couldn't put it down it was so compelling. The novel balances humour with some surprisingly tense moments and is driven by Whitaker’s subtle insights on the residents that live within the confines of Tall Oaks as suspicions grows with everyone a seemingly viable suspect.

Then another subplot was funny but I found it almost disingenuous to the beginning of the disappearance of the 3 year old. My last read was a massive disappointment so I decided to pick up Tall Oaks after it had come highly recommended from both Annie at The Misstery and Renee at It’s Book Talk.I am so glad that they brought this gem of a book to my attention as it has a firm spot in my top reads of the year! Was mir aber leider gar nicht gefallen hat, waren die vielen Stereotype, mit denen der Autor in "Was auf das Ende folgt" arbeitet. Tall Oaks is a community offering a beautiful environment, many great amenities and excellent service for our residents. The story sped along, and the way the chapters were set out to focus on a different character each time made for an entertaining and continuously moving read.
