About this deal

You have quite possibly the best song the Rolling Stones ever did, not to mention the coolest with 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking' which has the best guitar work of their careers. Instead of getting it together like kings would, they turned in a classic as spectacularly messy, sleazy, and sticky as they were. It's not only the album that defines them as a band, I also think it's an album that defines the genre. In a shoot out with my original US pressing, the original wins hands down with more sparkle, life, and soundstage.

Matrix / Runout (Runout, side A, etched, MPO®20 160512 stamped, variant 3): 0602557974508 A2 MPO®20 160512 MILES. The sound of the soft faraway thump of voodoo drums over darkened Southern fields and the Devil waiting down at the Crossroads just pervades this entire album and soaks it deeply with an evil Blues funk unparalleled in music. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term. No harsh mid and hi-freq EQ like in previous master (The one with zip and extra disc with out-takes.Paul Buckmaster's tasteful strings perfectly suit Mick Jagger's rudimentary acoustic guitar riff and rousing vocal performance. Got the Deluxe Edition- terrible pressing, There's no actual literal audio time skipping on my copy, but the playback is plagued with pops and scratch sounds. We pride ourselves on quality making sure that you get the perfect item which will add the finishing touch to your restoration or even something a little different for that custom touch. I could say that the album opens with their definitive (though not greatest) song in "Brown Sugar," but I would be overlooking one thing: the fact that the album actually opens with a zipper. StiFi music needs to be played loud, but the sound really suffers when you dial up the volume with this release.

From the snarling, thudding viciousness of Brown Sugar and Bitch, to the neverending funky strut of Can't You Hear Me Knocking, to the drug soaked desperation of Sister Morphine and Dead Flowers to the final eerie beauty of Moonlight Mile. I have to say, it's quite hard choosing which is the better of the two but I think Sticky Fingers edges it as their best album. It will be debated until the end of time (or at least people giving a damn about rock and roll) which artists had the most impressive uninterrupted runs. Not sure what happened here, as the Exile on Main Street and Some Girls half-speed masters sound pretty great, but the Sticky Fingers pressing is just flat-out bad: muddled sound, no bass, and lousy dynamics. Matrix / Runout (Runout, side A, etched, MPO®20 189775 stamped, variant 2): 0602557974508 A2 MPO®20 189775 MILES.

I only bought the deluxe because I got a good deal but anyone looking for a great copy of this album could go with just the standard version since it is pretty inexpensive. Of the four Sticky Fingers might fall the shortest of formal perfection (and there's no songs as instantly lovable as "Street Fighting Man" or "You Can't Always Get What You Want") but it is a true gem in the Stones catalog. The one curveball on Side One is the seven-minute "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," which boasts a riff nearly as incredible as "Brown Sugar," only to dissolve into a Santana-like jam that scarcely sounds like the Stones at all. The album is as I said a collection of great songs and often mentioned as the band’s ultimate studio record.I thought I had this version, but the label bottom rim text is: ROLLING STONES RECORDS, TM MUSIDOR N.

Certainly Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen in the Seventies and the Beatles career would chart as would post-Pablo Honey Radiohead, but I'd lean towards the mighty consecutive four piece slugger that began with Beggars Banquet and ended with Exile on Main Street. I bought this in HMV London the day it came out only to get home and find both discs covered in what literally looked like sticky fingerprints. LONDON SE9 2EQ (i found a version with a sleeve but there "should" be on the upper lef side a logo from a youth magazine which distributes also records (TWEN) / but this logo is not there instead there is: A BIT OF ADVICE FROM JIMMY M. This is easily The Stones high water mark and one of the greatest albums ever recorded from back to front, first track to last. Despite what you see in the media 180 to 250 plus does not enable better should quality from the vinyl. On this pressing, I feel there is nothing lacking: sounds of the instruments are separated, I hear organ, strings, piano, vocals, individual guitars, lots of bass punch as well as cymbal treble, a feeling of space in the reverberation, probably true to the master recording. edit: just arrived, the cover and sleeve are both fairly beat but considering I got it for retail I’ll take it. Treble is a little bright which means the brass and acoustic guitars sound really good but the bass is quite hidden .
