About this deal

A fun extension to the story would be to create some of those fun Halloween snacks like peeled grapes and do a brussel sprout taste test too. Alternatively how much fun would it be to have to have a spider sandwich at an Autumn or winter picnic! This recipe doesn't take much time to make so it works as a great option for when you're in a hurry or want food quickly. It has really great yet also really gross imagery which lend itself to a wonderful discussion or classroom activity about the 5 senses.

I couldn't help myself, I had to take this book home when I spied it while emptying the trolleys of the Automated Materials Handling system at our library! But, for a veggie sandwich, you could do a spread of hummus, thinly sliced tomato, and matchstick cut carrots for the legs. very often as the book is read out loud to them and as they eagerly await Max's next distasteful sandwich concoction. From fish-eye cheese and bug burgers to snail trail sauce and cockroach curry, Max will feast on anything crawly, creepy, hairy and sticky.
