The G Watch R has a heart rate sensor and a more attractive design, making it our favorite Android Wear watch so far.
There are a handful of competitors out there, most notably the Samsung Galaxy Gear and Pebble, but the market it still very much there for the taking with no clear leader just yet. It feels solid and there is a certain premium appeal about the Smartwatch, plus it's waterproof (sort of) so you won't need to take it off when you wash your hands, or cover it up when the rain comes down. Playing music from the watch is particularly problematic, as while it has 4GB of storage which you can fill up with songs the only way to actually get your music on there is to upload it to Play Music, then make it available offline on your phone and even once done you can't specify which songs you want to add to your watch, it will just sync all the offline songs, or as many as it can fit. That said, the SmartWatch 3 is also the best Android Wear device yet for athletes, thanks to its built-in GPS and waterproof build. The app syncs seamlessly with platforms like Facebook and Twitter, making it easy to keep up-to-date with the latest news and happenings in your social circle.
