However, due to a fun performance issue, it seems like Ultra flywheelers still aren’t quite there yet.Of course, I’m still launching darts to the right, and the increased velocity is further exaggerating the (nonexistant) flight characteristics of Ultra darts.

The blaster still retains the standard Ultra-sized grip, along with a hand guard that’s restrictive for larger fingers, especially in the trigger area. There’s an orange plate above the magazine well that this pusher extension travels under; it makes for a great channel for large wires. The operation is as you’d expect – depress the rev trigger to turn on the flywheel motors, then pull the main trigger to fire.Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections—they may also appear in recommendations and other places. However, for a line touted as having improved accuracy (not to mention a blaster with a large, built-in sight), shooting to one side is a major disappointment. Paying a premium for a proprietary dart is one thing; paying even more for what it should have been in the first place is absurd.

I was impressed by how straight and true the darts flew, allowing for precise aiming and hitting targets even from a distance. Interestingly, if no ammo is present (or the wrong ammo, because this is made only for Ultra), the pusher mechanism will stop, reverse itself, and turn off until the next time you pull the firing trigger. You can account for it, yes, but in the heat of foam-flinging combat, that’s a rather larger hurdle to overcome. First, it’s easy to rewire the motors; as long as your soldering and wiring is clean, it’ll fit without shell cutting. The new darts show what Ultra could have promised, had they waited to release the line a little longer. There is a dart detection system similar to that of the Ultra One – if a button on the pusher isn’t depressed, a catch will block the pusher from fully moving. As a semi-auto flywheel blaster, it’s easy to fire three darts per second, albeit with diminishing velocities. I recently had the opportunity to try out the NERF Ultra Strike Motorized Blaster with the accompanying 10 AccuStrike Ultra Darts, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations.
