About this deal

Hopefully someone will be able to compare the compliance ratings since they use dfifferent methods of reporting. but admittedly i was trying to get the best out of it in a Dual cs 505/II with a ultra low mass arm.

Look at the KAB gain calculator to get an idea of how much gain you need and try to guesstimate where your mixer settings need to be.In the end I got rid of the 1042, mainly because the 95ML was more neutral, tracked better, and traced tough inner grooves better.

Correct overhang set up can minimise the issue, but not quite completely, in my opinion unfortunately. The MP110 might also need a bit of a run-in of maybe 40 hours - see how it sounds after that, you may need to bring the capacitance back down but at the end of the day - if it sounds good, it is good! I was able to get a fairly flat response by loading down to 39K and using 100pf at the phono preamp and low capacitance cables. tell me why there is such a difference between a Denon Dl103 and an AT Vm95C, both of which have the same conical stylus.Everything is tested by our dedicated team of in-house reviewers in our custom-built test rooms in London, Reading and Bath. I tried a Goldring 1006 (Rega Baerwald alignment) in my Rega instead of Exact a while ago just to see/hear the difference between different stylus profiles.

And part of it is, sometimes I can be a clumsy person, and I hate to spend a chunk of change on something, and ruin it. I have both, and agree the 95ML is better, however, I also have the MP200 and in that case I prefer the 200s sound signature, but since it still uses a poor stylus I still rock the 95ML at the very least until I can retip a Micro stylus onto my MP200. I've had varied results with the MP-110 in different turntable/pre-amp combinations, ranging from bright and breezy to thick and heavy. the AT 440mlb , I tried one of those for a while and didn't really like the sound, I found it a bit 'bright' and tiring to listen to . Vinyl Rega Planar 2, Incognito rewire, Deepgroove subplatter, ceramic bearing, Michell Technoweight, Rega 24V motor, TTPSU, FunkFirm Achroplat platter, Michael Lim top and bottom braces, 2 Rega feet and one RDC cones. An old record collector trick (one that I don't recommend) is to turn the treble down to mask noise.
