About this deal

It looks great, offers excellent performance, reasonable customizability with the NZXT CAM software and honestly, I don’t really have much to complain about the Kraken Z53. We and our partners use data for Personalised ads and content, ad and content measurement, audience insights and product development. While you can switch between silent and performance mode in the NZXT CAM software, the Kraken Z53 will give you the same result when the CPU is on load.

You’ll find two headers on the pump, one for the proprietary cables which we’ve mentioned earlier that is required to power up the pump and the fans connected to it, and the USB cable to connect to the onboard USB header so you can monitor and customize it using the NZXT CAM software. The smaller radiator simply means we have less contact area for the surrounding air to extract heat. NZXT refreshed the Kraken Z63 and Z73 AIO coolers, but the Z53 is the smallest of the range, rocking a 240mm radiator. The lack of RGB fans might be a turn-off for the RGB fanatics but as a person who doesn’t really like RGB lightings, the Kraken Z53 is totally the kind of AIO liquid cooler I’d go for.It can be used to customize the Kraken Z53 and toggle the performance mode, but you’ll have to make sure that the USB cable is connected to the pump unit and the onboard USB 2. The Z53 is a new addition to the family and it's ideal for smaller systems that don't have plenty of space. The interesting-looking proprietary cable is something you don’t get to see on most AIO liquid coolers, as it is required for the pump to operate and it also acts as the splitter cable to power up the fans. NZXT has finally announced the latest addition to its Kraken Z series AIO liquid cooler, the Kraken Z53.

Windows Central is part of Future US Inc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. It's similar to the two other refreshed Z coolers, sporting a new 7th gen Asetek pump, LCD display, and Aer fans. Rich Edmonds was formerly a Senior Editor of PC hardware at Windows Central, covering everything related to PC components and NAS.

The pump unit has a customizable LCD display via the NZXT CAM software to display the temperature of your CPU and GPU, a seemingly reasonable feature and aesthetics some users might appreciate. The Kraken Z53 is easily one of the best performing cooler on the list if we look at the numbers from the performance comparison but one thing we noticed is that it actually cools down slightly faster than the rest of the AIO liquid coolers on the list after the stress test ended. Even with the smaller 240mm radiator and just two NZXT P120 fans, it's more than capable of handling even the more powerful processors that can kick out a lot of heat. And it performs seriously well too, which is good news for the Z53 since it's a CPU cooler at the end of the day.

I’m not exactly a fan of desktop widgets because most of them are hogging your system resources unnecessarily, but if you need a simple and lightweight widget to monitor both the CPU and GPU, the mini mode is something that I’d recommend. NZXT has refreshed the entire Z series, but today we'll be looking at the new Z53, which is the smaller sibling to the two AIOs, coming in with a 240mm radiator, making this perfectly suited to compact PC builds.Even the Z53 will be more than happy at cooling down an Intel Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 processor, though you will likely need a larger AIO if you were to overclock or do intense workloads.

The only differences here are the idle operating noise and I personally would prefer to go with the silent mode that is almost inaudible when the system is idle.

It's the most affordable Z-class AIO cooler, and the smallest in the range, but it's also pretty good at what it does. He's been involved in technology for more than a decade and knows a thing or two about the magic inside a PC chassis. As expected, testing showed the Ryzen 9 3900X to run a little warmer than when using the Z63 and Z73. I've previously tested the Kraken Z63 and Z73, finding both to be simply brilliant at not only keeping your CPU cool, but also acting as a gateway to colorful lighting and other cool effects. NZXT made the Z63 a little smaller and came up with the Z53, a 240mm radiator-touting AIO cooler with plenty of performance under the hood.
