This allows the printer to print two colors at once, although to do so you’ll need to find or create a 3D model that is designed for dual-color printing. The Ender 5 Pro has a metal-extruder, which helps iron some of the more common Bowden issues such as filament jams and clogs. We currently consider this to be the baseline Creality 3D printer and recommend it over older printers such as the Ender 3 Neo due to its improved feature set. When it came time to print our exacting geometric test object, I decided to relevel the print bed to ensure the best quality—3D printers tend to lose their alignment over time and need to be readjusted.

However, the strain based leveling system works well, so you should not need to do this often if at all. The only thing i added was a strain relief for the heated bed cabling and a roll of 6”(15cm) blue painter’s tape for the bed.

After building up the frame, you can go on mounting the Z-Axis on the bed and connecting the cables. at 350 x 350 x 400 mm, it may not be sufficient for some use cases, but it is still large enough for us to consider it large format.

The Ender 5 Pro benefits from a resume printing functionality that lets you restart a print job exactly from where it left off after a power interruption. Certain firmware packages are designed to work with different types of CPUs on the same board or printer models. This slightly limits the capability of the printer, but the single-nozzle design is much easier to calibrate than a dual-nozzle design would be.Also, if you are looking to print with flexible or high temperature materials, then the Ender 3 S1 Pro’s direct drive extruder and all-metal hotend will perform much better than other printers. as well as a number of nice-to-have features, most notably a direct drive extruder and a touch screen interface.
