The 6900 series, you cannot mention G-SHOCK without touching on its line of unforgettable collections: the 6900 series. The base models are the big-case GA-100 and GA-700, the round-case, three-digital-dial DW-6900, and the octagon bezel GA-2100. All form lines are designed in concentric circles from the inner bezel ring to the outer ring, and even the button guards protect from either side. Nearly two years later, G-Shock has doubled down on their hugely successful collab with the fine folks at Bamford Watch Department via the launch of the new Bamford x G-Shock DW-6900BWD-1ER limited edition. This model is made in Japan and they reflect the quality and attention to detail for which Japan is famous.When it comes to G-Shocks, my tastes are pretty conservative (arguably boring, really) and I like that this Bamford LE manages to be distinctive while still subtle enough to blend in as a more common G-Shock. Along with the DW-5600, the DW-6900 is a popular base model for limited editions and collaborations. With its rounded form a departure from the squared design of the original DW-5000 model, the series won fans as a “Triple Graph” model upon its 1995 debut and has steadfastly remained just as popular to this day. In comparison to the larger G-Shock watches of today, we categorize it as a medium size, although it does wear larger and than the DW-5600.

Following a DW-5600 collaboration in 2018 and a DW-5750 in 2020, both of which featured a light color palette centered around Hender Scheme’s signature natural leather, the DW-6900 opts instead for an all-black color scheme that’s set off by its special strap. From the G-SHOCK line-up of rugged timepieces that have continued to push the limits of timekeeping toughness since 1983 comes the Virtual Rainbow series inspired by the virtual world of video games. The bright colours of these models shine brightly against the glossy black colouring for a selection of cool designs.
