Obviously it is no competition for the large Cricuts like the air or maker however if you are looking for something just to create smaller projects, cards, stickers and you don't have the room or the budget for larger Cricuts, then the Joy is perfect. Just be warned that there are a few expenses (materials such as cutting mats and some designs in Design Space), but if you craft a lot then this will make a worthy investment. Great little machine Ive been making crafts for quite some time now Making quilts and mainly a lot of seeing projects how ever my partner needed loads of personalised things done for the business so we thought why not do it ourselves.

You also won't need a cutting mat thanks to the Cricut Joy's compatibility with Cricut Smart Materials, though you may wish to use cutting mats if you're using traditional vinyl. It's a great stepping stone between die cutting machines and the larger machines in the Cricut family and will encourage the less confident tech users to have a go. Great intro to cricut I’ve been looking at the cricut machines for a while but don’t have enough time to justify the more expensive and technical machines so I bought this one as an introduction. But all in all for what it does it’s definitely worth it if your using it for more vinyl or iron on purposes!

This duo comes with the machine, but it’s always nice to have a Replacement Blade on hand, just in case. I’ve had JOY for week and so far I’ve crafted in my bed, on the couch and even my mum inlaw who is not great with gadgets, has used it with ease to make a card for her friend. Sensors measure your material to ensure it’s large enough for your project, then your machine starts cutting.

At the moment I don't have a usable craft space, so if it's just a small job, the Joy is so easy to set up and go.
