About this deal

This is definitely a story for the "conspiracy theorist" , which is probably why I loved it so much! In case that’s something you’d want to have a go at, I have a step-by-step guide to creating them here: https://houseofmahalo.

I recently made these mini lace junk journals out of pocket-sized vintage dictionaries and they were a fairly easy and fun project to sink my teeth into. Whichever type of junk journal you make, many of the steps after making the cover are similar, so I hope you find the following instructions helpful. This beautiful pink fairy journal was my first time working with a Flower Fairy book by Cicely Mary Barker. He is the author of a number of highly successful books for teenagers and young adults including, Junk, Doing It, Lady, My Life as a Bitch, Bloodsong, Bloodtide, Sara's Face and The Cry of the Wolf (shortlisted for the Carnegie medal). Ribbon binding: With just two holes and some pretty ribbon, you can easily bind a small journal together. The front is a little more understated in pinks and blues (one of my favourite colour combinations), while the back of the cover is even more colourful! Some parts of the story ring very true, especially thinking back to the beginning stages of it before it went rampaging all over the world. So half the population is gone but society continues on as before but with less traffic (seriously, there's barely a blip that registers with the SEVERAL characters in this novel). I’ve come to the conclusion that in actual fact, the numbers of people who seriously think that young people 14 and up can’t handle this sort of material are actual an odd minority holding an extreme opinion hardly shared by the rest of society.

You are never given a reason to care about any of the characters, and the information you learn about real world phenomena (secret groups, DNA, etc. Your journal might include (but isn’t limited to), tea- or coffee-dyed papers, vintage book pages, vintage trims, Victorian or Edwardian illustrations and genuine vintage ephemera like invoices, receipts, tea cards, envelopes or postage stamps. Gemma remains free of heroin, once she has gone through withdrawal, whereas Tar finds it much more difficult and slips several times, even though he is on methadone. You can even fold your book pages or paper in such a way as to create extra pockets from just one sheet!Using an A4-sized envelope as my base (my go-to when making fabric covers as it means I don’t have to measure anything! The youngest person to publish a book (male) is Thanuwana Serasinghe (Sri Lanka), who was 4 years 356 days old when his book Junk Food was released on 5 January 2017.

Now I know that’s just the way it goes when it comes to books, it leaves the rest to the imagination. When making a vintage junk journal, you’ll probably use a lot of neutral or more muted colours, as well as black and white or sepia tones (much like the colours you might see in old photographs). They're also getting pretty disgruntled about all the "New Money" that's moving into their tier and cramping their style. The cover features a pink fabric pocket, which I’ve adorned with additional embellishments including applique flowers and sparkly beads. If you want to make your journal cover from cereal boxes or similar packaging, then you’ll find some simple steps and a video below to help you get started. It has been such an exciting journey so far and her dad and I are over the moon she has been awarded this as it is the least she deserves.
