About this deal

The textured illustrations with a colour palette focused on blue and white perfectly evoke the mysticism of the snowy landscape.

Blue Penguin by Petr Horacek (9781406366013/Paperback

I would've drop kicked the superficial (read: racist) penguin a-holes who'd ostracized me from their group for being different and left with the whale before making friends with them when they realised how awesome I was.A moving and beautifully illustrated story from Petr Horacek, an illustrator described by the Washington Post as "the thinking tot's Eric Carle".

Blue Penguin by Petr Horáček | Waterstones

She is a board member for the Academy of American Poets and an advisory board member of Kundiman, a national organization dedicated to Asian American creative writing. The artistry is amazing, it can only be described as what looks like pastel drawings, which creates these beautiful, appealing pictures with an overtone of the biting antarctic winds. When they are ready, they cross the parade area and head towards their nest sites, often to be greeted by mates or hungry chicks.Scott Fitzgerald, Rudolfo Anaya, and Julia Alvarez, including a New York Times bestselling edition of Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup.

Blue Penguin - AbeBooks The Blue Penguin - AbeBooks

Get in the Christmas spirit early with this stunningly illustrated book by award-winning illustrator Petr Horacek. Some highlighting in one part, a little edge damage to rear of another, but overall clean and sound.Petr Horacek's dreamy Blue Penguin [is] a nice enough story, but what really makes this book sing are Horacek's amazing illustrations, all ice and snow with occasional vivid sightings of an orange-coloured sun. S. classics publishing program including the works of John Steinbeck, Arthur Miller, Shirley Jackson, William Golding, Amy Tan, Alice Walker, and the Pelican Shakespeare series.

The Philosophy Foundation - Ages 5-7 (KS1)

I liked this and thought it was cute, but the kindergarten kids I read it to weren't particularly enthralled. Too melancholy and random, and unremarkable in the diverse field of children's penguin/friendship tales in my opinion. Eventually all of the penguins learn of his talent, and are sorry they treated him badly because he was different. He looked like them, dived and swam like them, but he was blue and white, not black and white like them, so they left him alone, and sad.A heart-warming fable about a friendship and belonging from the award-winning illustrator Petr Horacek. Then the other penguins join them and become the blue penguin’s friends too, feeling bad for how they excluded the blue penguin before. Despite the fact that he does the same penguin things as everyone else in his colony, he is still an outcast.
