About this deal

Technology is always evolving, and I like the idea that a headphone manufacturer can go back to an existing model and update it accordingly. I can’t find any material or source specifying exactly how thin the diaphragm is, nor did Hifiman mention it in its marketing materials.

Both the Ananda and the Arya Stealth Magnet Version are open-back headphones with a fairly similar appearance. Having spent the last two days A/B'ing the Arya V2 and the HD800S, I gotta say, I'm absolutely dumbfounded by how similar these headphones sound. With the Arya, a patented “Window Shade” is precisely structured to gain greater openness in the headphone design. The suspension system is almost transparent on your head, ensuring that hotspots are simply not possible, and therefore eliminated. So, when it comes to the frequency analyses, I can say that Arya Stealth Magnets headphone is able to produce a very fast and controlled bass response with surprisingly good amount of impact besides the decent level of depth.

I primarily listen and evaluate from original source CDs, high-quality lossless digital files, or high-quality/resolution streaming music.

But keep in mind, it's not like the Arya is relaxing: they share a very similar tonal balance and if not A/B I bet many non trained listeners would not be able to tell them apart in a blind test. official Headphonesty review forthcoming) is a model example of recyclable, environmentally friendly material choices and outstanding design. The left surface of this mechanism features the HiFiMAN and the right surface has the Arya branding.Yeah, that's exactly what I say in my coming HE1000 Stealth first impressions: the Arya Stealth is warmer, more "musical" and intimate.

If what HIFIMAN is going for is environmental stewardship, which I strongly support, it would be wise to highlight this principle as a company value and priority. If I had to guess, I would say the smoothness in the HEKV2 has more to with tuning and actual driver used, since soundstage is so much wider with a clear step up in imaging. Or maybe, you’re actually like me, never having experienced an Arya or anything from HiFiMan’s higher altitude product line. Generally, the thinner the film means lower mass, yielding faster response and lower distortion which in turn create a natural sound reproduction. The upper treble region of the Arya Stealth Magnet Version is emphasized and a bit sharp at the beginning that sounds much more controlled after the first 50 hours.
