One of the highest-grossing video game films of all time, Sonic the Hedgehog 2,is now available to watch on TV via digital streaming in the UK, less than three months after its release in local cinemas. As mentioned above, Jim Carrey revealed his imminent retirement from his long acting career in the wake of Sonic 2's release. Having to fend for himself for many years, he eventually is hunted by a mad scientist and befriended by a man named Tom (James Marsden). Their bond has them eventually working together against the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey). This movie is less like the video game and more of a "What If?" scenario for the character of Sonic. Personally, I found myself attached to the story and many of the elements made it an even more enjoyable experience.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is basically everything the first Sonic movie should have been. While the first film wasn't bad per se and perfectly watchable, it was very basic and clearly limited in scope and budget. Still alright overall.
