About this deal

We haven't seen the original TV series to know what the humour is like, but judging from this movie, we can tell you that this is one teen comedy that will leave you in stitches. While it the shyer viewer (probably of the female species) may be slightly embarrassed by some of the scenes (warning: expect to see, err, genitalia), the movie never becomes distasteful and offensive. While some may consider it on the brinks of becoming obnoxious, the crude humour remains truly funny throughout. Maybe it's the British accent, or maybe it's the socially awkward boys who you cannot bear to hate – this is a comedy that you will enjoy.

Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Simon prepares to swim from a yacht to shore as a big romantic gesture, to massive, raging cheers and applause from all on board. Minutes later, the whole boat is silent as Simon begins to drown, and winds up being airlifted to hospital by the coast-guard.

Personally, I loved this movie and think it is one of the better TV- Big screen adaptations that's been made in recent memory.

Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Considering that Lucy isn't at all like Carli, Jane is not like Chloe, and Lisa doesn't seem to be like Neil's flings, it's noteworthy how Alison is essentially just Charlotte with the Alpha Bitch traits (both the good and the bad) turned down. They are even somewhat similar in appearance. Though it may be justified in that Will already found his perfect type of woman in Charlotte, and then he naturally falls for Alison who is so similar, while the others lads' matches had formerly been...less than perfect. If I had to justify why I loved this film with one sentence, it would be this: at no point does it stray from the formula that made the show so refreshing. The humour is there, as are the scenes of incredible social awkwardness, but this consistency begins with proper characterisation. Every fan of the show has a personal favourite, and should be pleased to hear that their move to the big screen has not coerced creators Beesley and Morris into thinking they should customise the characters to suit a wider audience. By the end of the film, each of the four is in an inherently better position in their life than they were two hours ago, but how they all get there remains entrenched in typical Inbetweeners fashion.

Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Neil at the end when he realises Nicole is waiting for him at the airport. He runs off with Lisa, leaving his luggage with his dad and Nicole is left confused. The Inbetweeners Movie successfully captures the essence of the TV series while avoiding the trap of simply feeling like an extended episode. It retains the show's trademark voiceover and crude humour, which is even taken up a notch in the film.

Will getting ready to go skinny-dipping with Alison, only to lose his glasses and end up blindly combing the beach with his underwear around his ankles. If I had to make a couple of minor criticisms, I would say that a handful of party clichés are overdone (see: front-on shots of friends walking in slow- motion through a club with big grins on their faces) and that some realism is lost when Simon appears too gullible to be believed (you'll know it when you see it). However, these moments are few and far between, and fail to detract from making this the funniest movie I've seen in a good few years. A common criticism of feature movies developed from sitcoms is that they often amount to little more than an extended episode of the TV series, and there is some validity to that accusation here - there is little in the way of plot, merely an episodic series of events during the holiday.Neil, surprisingly. He spends a large portion of the film getting with all manner of (mostly much older) women on the boy's holiday. Towards the end he reveals that his girlfriend dumped him and he didn't want to dampen the mood. Turns out, he was lying — his girlfriend Nicole is waiting for him at the airport during the closing credits.
