Cole is a wealthy, widower, and CEO of a coffee company. He has raised his 15 year old daughter, for the last ten years. He is stressed, and grumpy, and totally dedicated to his daughter, and his job. Piper Renee, twenty-four, is a bird geek. She might be mature for her age, but birds never fail to bring out the kid in her. She always maintains a positive outlook despite the responsibility she shoulders. Her mother walked out ten years ago, leaving Piper to step up as a substitute mother figure for her sister Maisy, who was just seven at the time, as well as look out for her ailing father. Piper can’t be away from home for long since someone needs to look after their father. Rather than take a 9 to 5 job and be tied down every day, she has used her resourcefulness to make her own way in the world. She earned a bachelor’s degree in media relations and put her knowledge to work. She combines her brains and beauty, building channels and marketing her content. As a social media influencer, she gets paid to do what she loves – travel. She hopes to travel the world, but since getting away is complicated, much of her travels are limited to B&Bs and cabins in the Pacific Northwest. Jenn is an independent media expert, but is burned out of working in an office. She inherits her grandma’s house, but the house is falling apart. She does not have the funds to repair it, but refuses to sell it, especially to Miles, her grandma’s next door neighbor. Miles and Jenn get off on the wrong foot, when they first meet, and their exchanges just make the situation much harder to bear. I have loved every book written by Nicole Snow, and this one did not fail. This author has the ability to write couples that are imperfect but perfect for each other. This book had so many emotions in it, like sadness, lust, love, and intrigue.

While Oh My 😱, how I loved Miles, he is such a wounded bear, lashing out because he is in pain all the while being a real softy inside. In this book, we have a neighbor's spat. It's a CEO versus a girl who just inherited her grandmother's Bed and Breakfast in a small town. Said CEO makes a generous offer on the property, but girl doesn't want to sell. They butt heads. She ends up working for him because she needs the money for repairs. Some crazy stuff goes down. We find out there's more to our grumpy CEO than meets the eye. Okay, so it's actually a very standard trope for this type of book, but it was so good. And the end? Oh my gosh! I loved the end. I thought it was going to turn out that way when it started, but when my suspicions were confirmed was was bouncing up and down. It was really cute. This story opens during the summer in Seattle. Lincoln and Dakota have already welcomed baby girl Evermore into the world. This is such a good Nicole Snow series. Like, amazing. She's so hit or miss. This series? Fantastic. Every book has been awesome, and this one was super awesome. Just like with the rest of the books of the series, it's enemies to lovers, and it does have some amazing banter and fun sections. It reads as a standalone, but I recommend starting from the beginning of the series because you'll get mentions here and there. Just an FYI: Snow's whole library of books is interconnected, so she'll reference all kinds of people from other books.

How Jenn and Miles meet is a funny and somewhat embarrassing meet cute and the two of them have a insta-love hate moment. The attraction is there with the sparks are flying, but these two started off on the wrong foot, which only adds fuel to the fire as enemies. And when they start to work together, their enemy status slowly changes to something like friends to lovers. It’s only when a certain playing card enters, that makes Miles realize what he really wants and the caveman in him wants to mark his territory and claim her as his own. These two are hot and cold with one another and the games they play make things complicated and blur the lines and intentions. But once they give into that pull and their need for one another, the fireworks go off. There are steamy moments and smexy scenes that will get you all hot and bothered so have your fan ready. The word kitten definitely has a different meaning to me now after reading this book.It was fun from the beginning to the end. Miles and Jennifer's banters are hilarious and funny and those two dobermans too cute. Their chemistry is off the chart and steamy. Lastly, she quits the best well paid job because of a man!!!! And this to me is the most infuriating thing she did! So what you had a fight with the guy and he called your neighbourhood trashy!? You're supposed to be a professional, capable of making life changing decisions with your head! And don't even get me started with the worst most unprofessional resignation letter I have ever seen! I actually cringed when she said she CCed people on that!

I can't begin to tell you how much I love these two protagonists and Cole's smart-ass daughter Destiny, they are everything you would expect from perfect characters and a whole lot more. They are all broken by their pasts for different reasons, but fit together so perfectly. I’ve read several books written by Nicole Snow, and she never fails to write books, that hold my full attention, from the first sentence, to the end. Her books always have great characters, with the best story. There is always a romance, between imperfect characters, that are perfect for each other. Her stories always include some angst, and suspense. This book is filled with all kinds of emotions and I felt each one of them anger, hatred, love, and loss.Miles Cromwell, thirty-five, isn’t known for being warm and fuzzy. He has had a few women in his time, but he doesn’t see himself settling down. A recluse at heart, he prefers to spend his days alone, painting landscapes. It helps to calm and distract him from the ugly thoughts that often creep into his mind. As CEO of Cromwell-Narada Media, he cannot spend all of his time lying low at his Pinnacle Point home, much to his chagrin. His Seattle-based company is just a forty-minute flight away, and he lives there much of the year. Cromwell-Narada is a media giant and dominates the Pacific Northwest. Miles took over for his father years ago, and he works diligently to continue to grow the company and keep atop market trends. Unfortunately, his marketing department struggles to get out of the corporate mindset and isn’t keeping pace with new ideas in marketing, so getting traction in social media is an area that needs work. After many expressions of insults and antagonism, their attitude begins to change, and a hidden relationship begins.
