About this deal

Extreme Biome™ is our upgraded key ingredient complex made up of 10 types of probiotics that are put through an extreme fermentation process to extract, preserve, and enhance the skin restorative properties of the ingredients. Personally, I never had the opportunity to test the previous formulas of this product. The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Repair Probio Ampoule serum is the first version I’m trying. So I’m not going to be able to compare it with the older versions. Previously known as the “Borabit Long Name” Ampoule (Borabit means “purple bottle” in Korean, and “long name” because its complete name used to be “Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator”), the brand reformulated the serum a few months ago. The name is still fairly long, but the formula has changed quite a bit since the beginning.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule Review: Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule

Test Results: As a result of the test, it was a hypoallergenic product that did not cause skin irritation. Apart from the already mentioned probiotics, fermented ingredients and fruit/veggie extracts, the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X also contains a nice little combo of hydrating humectants glycerin and hyaluronic acid, plus moisturising ingredients such as ceramides, sunflower seed oil and squalane. It is a richer ampoule meant for women 30+, so younger skin may find this a bit too much. Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X – Worth the Hype? Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence is a concentrated essence that is said to clarify, tone, and refine skin texture, as well as minimize the appearance of redness while providing deep hydration. It creates the perfect base for your skin care routine by conditioning skin with powerfully concentrated 80% fermented yeast extract (Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate). Derived from fission yeast, which has a similar structure to the that of human cells and similar components to NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor), this fermented extract helps to hydrate, balance, and firm the look of skin. Fermented yeast extract also improves the absorption of other ingredients into the skin. Another key ingredient in the Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence is niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that plays a vital role in cellular metabolism. This means that niacinamide provides skin cells with the energy needed to perform important processes, such as DNA repair and cell turnover. Niacinamide also has the ability to repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling. Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence also contains several ingredients that will hydrate and soothe the skin, such as betaine, sodium hyaluronate, trehalose, adenosine, raffinose, lactic acid, and more.

What’s your go-to anti-aging ampoule treatment? But I was disappointed with its soothing effect. I find that the ANR and the ma:nyo serums are way more effective on this point. It’s such a shame because, considering the formula and the amount of soothing ingredients, I expected a lot from it! To me, Missha remains one of the most underrated large name K-brands in the West – I once heard a (non-Korean) influencer in their 20s dismissively call them an “ajumma brand” ( ajumma being the Korean name for “older woman” or “married woman”), meaning it’s for boring old women and not fun young guys advertising on YouTube, I guess?! See, this is one of those things I find problematic about the skincare community as a whole, the way we dismiss Korean skincare products aimed at women aged 30+ or even, gasp, 40+. I guess it’s because mostly younger influencers are famous for promoting skincare right now? Missha is a great brand, not just for “ajummas” like me, I promise, and their Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X has stood the test of time for very good reasons! To strengthen the “Borabit”/small purple bottle marketing claims, the brand has also added plant extracts of purple fruits and vegetables for their antioxidant effects (blueberry, beetroot, red cabbage, aubergine…). Why not? 😉
