Principal photography began on October 12, 1992. The film is set in Salem, Massachusetts, but most of it was shot on sound stages in Burbank, California. Now, it has been a fair while since I have seen the film, but I think this novelization basically recounts the tale as it appears on screen. So, if you are a big fan of the film, I would guess that this would appeal to you.
