About this deal

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is brought on to the case and grows suspicious when the one friend who wasn’t out celebrating refuses to collaborate on the case. All of a sudden, a motive surfaces, and Michael’s near accident may not be so accidental after all. In Looking Good Dead, published in 2006, Tom Bryce finds an apparently lost cd and decides to try to return it to its owner. But when his mission to return the cd leads to him witnessing a ghastly homicide, his family is threatened if he decides to go to the police. Meanwhile, Roy Grace is still haunted by his missing wife. It’s been nearly ten years since she disappeared. Central to the series is Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, a no-nonsense and dogged cop, supported by a thoroughly capable team, including his best mate DI Glenn Branson. What it boils down to this time out, though, is that there’s nowhere near enough of the police team and too much attention paid to characters in whom it’s difficult to get invested. Many characters in the Roy Grace books turn to Grace as a kind of shining light in their time of darkness. His personable appearance and kind heart makes him easy for victims to talk to and trust, and Grace delivers on that trust nearly every time. In the aftermath of 9/11, a failed Brighton businessman sees an opportunity to shed his debts, disappear, and reinvent himself in another country. It’s basically an inverse- Galactus situation. In WOFTWTD, space gods don’t devour planets. Instead, their bodies float in from beyond the galaxy and humanity harvests their clothing and flesh to survive, now that their old worlds are no longer viable. Corporations still have the tightest grip on resources, and there are too many ships mining too few corpses. Georges Malik is captain of the Vihaan II, an autopsy ship with a crew of four that is barely scraping by, but Georges has a plan to escape their current state of desperation: find the first living god. Peter James's Roy Grace mystery series was recently adapted for television by Endeavour writer Russell Lewis. Now, many are discovering the series for the first time – or starting all over and reading it anew with actual characters in mind.James is deeply fascinated by the many different kinds of police work, especially how it tends to change over time. His research on the Grace novels, he claims, has given him insight into the daily life of a detective. What are the Roy Grace books all about? Michael’s desperate and attractive fiancée, Ashley Harper, seeks Superintendent Roy Grace for his help, hoping to find her husband-to-be before the wedding in three days.

Ewing describes WOFTWTD as an expansion of themes he’s explored in his corporate work — cosmic entities, gods, death, religion — but he can go further than he can in a shared universe where he has to “leave the idea-space reasonably tidy for others.” The climate crisis roots this story in a pressing real-world issue, and Ewing can double-down on socio-political commentary when he doesn’t have to assuage corporate overlords. Is there any required reading? Ewing broke into the industry working on the British sci-fi comics magazine 2000 AD — home of Judge Dredd — before becoming a fixture at Marvel Comics. He’s spent the last seven years gathering momentum at Marvel, proving himself particularly adept at building on ideas of the past while bringing complexity and modern-day relevance to characters who have been around for decades. Brighton isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly unique – and by getting a taste of the city, you'll enhance your reading of the Roy Grace series. Host was adapted into a made for tv movie by the US Network in 1998. Dr. Joe Messenger, played by Peter Gallagher, gives into the seduction of a terminally ill woman. He later finds that she has uploaded herself into a computer. Now she threatens to destroy his family from beyond the grave. ITV made Prophecy into a feature in 1995. A Ouija Board, an archaeologist, and a widower with his son are all connected. Later that day, workmen dig up a long-dead woman in an entirely different part of the city. Though the cases initially seem unrelated, it doesn't take DS Roy Grace long to put the pieces together.Set in the year 2367, Boom! Studios’ We Only Find Them When They’re Dead ( WOFTWTD) is cosmic sci-fi that takes the current climate crisis to extremes, imagining a future where humans have to strip-mine giant space corpses to stay alive. It’s also the first creator-owned series by Al Ewing, a star writer at Marvel Comics, and Simone Di Meo, an exceptional artist primarily known for his work on assorted Power Rangers comics. They’ve proven that they can bring excitement, drama, and fun to corporate IP, and their new series gives them the opportunity to push even further without editorial restrictions. Who is making We Only Find Them When They’re Dead? Roy Grace is a Brighton-based detective whose outlook has been coloured by the disappearance of his beloved wife Sandy. He has a good heart and a strong drive to help others, but he's a damaged man. When James’ publisher, Pan Macmillan, came to him to ask him to create a new detective, James says he wanted to make Roy Grace a very separate kind of officer compared to other fictional investigators. He goes on to explain that much of his time was spent trying to determine what it is that detectives really do, and he discovered that their biggest job is to solve puzzles. How intriguing would it be to have a character that has a personal puzzle their own life? Who is Peter James? James became a successful producer of 26 films. The first movie he produced was 1971’s The Corpse Grinders. In addition to Corpse Grinders, Peter James has also produced such movies as Under Milk Wood, Dead of Night, Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things, Spanish Fly, Jericho Mansions, Head in the Clouds, and The Bridge of San Luis Rey. He was the executive producer of 2004’s take on Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. If you like courtroom dramas, then Find Them Dead may work better for you than it did for me. But while I enjoyed appearances from familiar faces such as acting DI Norman Potting – a character who James has skilfully turned from a figure of fun into an impressive operator – I wanted more of what the author excels at. And that’s rigorous police procedurals.

For years, Harry and Freya dreamed of finding a valuable hidden treasure at a car boot sale. They didn't think it likely, of course, but they could hope. As Grace investigates a nearby murder, he soon realises the man on trial is pure evil, and he'll stop at nothing to ensure his own freedom. Will he be able to stop the man before anyone else gets hurt?Roy Grace is also different in that he will use anything and everything available to him to solve a case. He will use basics like pathology analysis and forensics, to mediums as far off the beaten path as the paranormal, getting input from mediums and clairvoyants about his work. Grace has his own belief system in ghosts and things that go bump in the night, and he brings that into his cases.

Italian artist Simone Di Meo is a relative newcomer to mainstream American comics, but he’s made a big impression with his art on Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover miniseries. His work with the Power Rangers prepared him for the cosmic spectacle of WOFTWTD while giving him a wide variety of characters to bring to life, and his layouts and compositions energize action sequences and more grounded emotional moments. Mariasara Miotti assists Di Meo with coloring, and AndWorld Design is responsible for the dramatic lettering, which reinforces the gravitas of the dead gods. What is We Only Find Them When They’re Dead about? Dead Man’s Time calls Roy Grace in once more. This time it’s for a burglary that has taken over a million pounds worth of loot. It has also left an elderly man who lives there dying. As Grace shows up on the scene, it’s clear that the family does not care so much about the valuables so much as one valuable in particular. They will do anything to get it. They don’t care about breaking the law and Grace is thrown into a hot pursuit that takes him through Europe and eventually all the way to New York.
