About this deal

Phenylephrine overdosage is likely to result in effects similar to those listed under adverse reactions. Additional symptoms may include irritability, restlessness, hypertension and possibly reflux brachycardia. In severe cases confusion, hallucinations, seizures and arrhythmias may occur. However the amount required to produce serious phenylephrine toxicity would be greater than required to cause paracetamol-related liver toxicity. Don't take Beechams max strength all in one if you have taken a type of medicine called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days. MAOIs include the antidepressants phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid and moclobemide, and the anti-Parkinson's medicines selegiline, safinamide and rasagiline. This is because the combination of phenylephrine with these medicines could cause a dangerous increase in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis). Beechams Breathe Clear Hot Honey & Lemon Menthol Flavour powder for oral solution. (paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride).

Treatment with activated charcoal should be considered if the overdose has been taken within 1 hour. Plasma paracetamol concentration should be measured at 4 hours or later after ingestion (earlier concentrations are unreliable). Treatment with N-acetylcysteine may be used up to 24 hours after ingestion of paracetamol, however, the maximum protective effect is obtained up to 8 hours post-ingestion. The effectiveness of the antidote declines sharply after this time. If required the patient should be given intravenous N-acetylcysteine, in line with the established dosage schedule. If vomiting is not a problem, oral methionine may be a suitable alternative for remote areas, outside hospital. Management of patients who present with serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24h from ingestion should be discussed with the NPIS or a liver unit. ParacetamolLiver damage is possible in adults who have taken 10g or more of paracetamol. Ingestion of 5g or more of paracetamol may lead to liver damage if the patient has risk factors (see below).Contains paracetamol. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol whilst taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor. Warnings and precautions: Contains paracetamol. Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products or use of other cold and cough medicines, including cough suppressants and sympathomimetics (decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants), should be avoided. Medical advice should be sought before use in patients with occlusive vascular disease, glutathione depletion due to metabolic deficiencies, chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema. Use in caution in patients taking digoxin, cardiac glycosides and vasoconstrictor agents such as ergot alkaloids. If you have a stinking cold, you might consider using Beechams all in one to relieve your symptoms. We look at Beechams all in one dosage, possible side-effects and medicine interactions: What is Beechams all in one used for?

Indications: Relief of sinus pain and the symptoms of colds and influenza, including fatigue and drowsiness. If you're taking medicines for high blood pressure you shouldn't take Beechams max strength all in one, because the decongestant may make your blood pressure medicine less effective.
