About this deal

As the Eastwood is most likely to be used in Phono mode, we tested this first. To play your record, lift the clear plastic dust cover and place it on the turntable. The compact design means that the record won't actually fit perfectly, and you won't be able to close the dust cover again without removing it. Still, the visual effect is nice. Elegance seekers – this modern looking hybrid turntable provides your home with a measure of elegance that you didn’t realize it was missing. Your guests will comment on your charming vintage record player, your vintage record collection, and they’ll love the ambience and experience it provides. Vinyl loving aficionados want nothing but the absolute best for their incredible record collections. In this case, they do not want grime, dirt, or dust accumulating on their records or record player. That would be an unforgivable sacrilege and completely go against everything that they hold sacred. Listening to Power Trip's " Soul Sacrifice," it sounded thin and on the ragged side. I had assumed that aggressive metal wouldn't sound the best through the speaker, and I had assumed correctly. Fortunately, this is just the speaker, as playing the same record on the turntable through my stereo sounded fine.

To play a record, set an album down carefully on the turntable and turn the unit on. Turn the BT/PHONO knob to PHONO and PH will show on the display. Press play and then gently lower the tonearm down onto the album. Adjust the volume once the album starts playing. If you plug in headphones, the internal speakers should stop playing, this didn’t always work for me though. While I admit that the audio volume for records is lower than MP3s via Bluetooth player, I also noticed an anomaly that you might be experiencing. If you want a record player with fantastic sound to play your favourite LPs or digitise them, our expert guide will help you buy the perfect model When I first took the Re-Spin out of the box and removed the dust cover, I couldn't help but notice the tonearm and a few accessories were taped down. Considering this is supposed to be portable, I was curious how well everything would stay in place when the player was on the move.

J'attends encore un peu pour constater si ce problème de vitesse persiste pour faire une réclamation auprès de Boulanger. There’s one large knob to control power, volume and connectivity modes situated near the front of the turntable. Holding it down for two seconds will turn the turntable on and off. Turning it will control the volume. And, pressing it will let you cycle through three connectivity modes: Vinyl, Vinyl Stream, and Bluetooth mode. Pairing is incredibly simple with the latter two modes. Speaking of, Vinyl Stream is a somewhat unique concept where you can use the functionality of the turntable while using an external speaker system via Bluetooth. It’s a nice, if somewhat niche, feature that makes sense if you have access to a larger Bluetooth-enabled sound system and want to connect a turntable. The Eastwood ships with an external power supply instead of utilizing an internal power supply used by more expensive turntables. Not everyone wants the hassle of connecting a turntable to an amp and separate speakers, so there’s lots of options on the market for models with built-in speakers.Next up, I decided to try something that would work with the mono speaker, choosing " King Harvest" by The Band. This worked perfectly with this speaker. All the instruments were well represented, even the bass, and even as I pushed the volume past comfortable volume levels, I didn't notice any audible distortion.

The Re-Spin weighs in at just over five pounds, so carrying it with the built-in handle is easy. This lightweight is noticeable in the feel of the plastic---it's thin, but not insubstantial. You probably don't want to drop it, but it feels like it will hold up to everyday use just fine. Finally, I tried something more complex musically, but not necessarily in choice of instrumentation, playing Faraquet's " Parakeet." The clean guitar sounded great, and the bass came through loud and clear. There is still a quality here---some might say "vintage" while others would say "lo-fi"---but it worked for the sound. When I connect my phone to the turntable via Bluetooth, and I play my favorite MP3s, the audio seems to come out of the turntable speaker so much louder than it does when I play records. Like Victrola's Revolution GO, the Re-Spin features a removable lid that pulls double duty. In its normal function, it keeps your turntable clean and dust free. Take it off of the turntable, however, and it works as a stand that holds up to five records, including two slots for double albums. Victrola Eastwood is one such stylish and compact all-in-one system. It comes with a three-speed turntable and a modest built-in speaker.Type d'entraînement : courroie, permet un rendement sonore optimal car il n'y a pas de vibration liée au moteur But, it's the sound quality that keeps me from saying it’s great. It has a very colored sound that most people getting into vinyl will enjoy. It’s warm with a slightly overemphasized mid-range and slightly rolled-off high-end that will give everything that vinyl warmth, even when you’re using it as a Bluetooth speaker. It actually surprised me by the quality. However, it has the kind of sound that future audiophiles will eventually find a bit too colored. Of course, this is not meant as a HiFi product. And, for its price, functionality and features, it’s hard to ask for more. But, if you’re hoping for a transcendental auditory experience, you won’t find it here. Controls near the tonearm allow you to change the turntable speed for 33 1/3, 45, or 78 rpm records. There’s also an auto stop switch so you never have to deal with that end of record skipping sound, unless you’re into that sort of thing. Enthusiast brand ProJect has aimed to maximise sound quality with its affordable Primary E, which it claims has ‘no compromise in sound’ despite its mid-range price.

Keeping with the general suitability for younger music lovers, the Eastwood works independently without needing additional speakers. An external sound system would absolutely help to enhance the experience, but for those short on space, the in-built speakers are good enough. Do you ever prefer listening to your favorite songs or audiobooks without sharing them with the entire world? How about listening to your favorite audio without interrupting the other people at home? The Victrola The Eastwood record player is truly one of my favorite electronics at the moment. It combines old-school technology with the modern world in unique and interesting ways. Since there aren't a whole bunch of turntables out there with built-in battery life, it’s hard to say whether the battery life is good or not. After all, there are a lot more moving parts with a turntable than with a portable Bluetooth speaker, where you can expect up to 18 hours of battery life depending on the model. Of course, there are some that will give you just 12 hours like the Revolution Go is advertised as having.

Final thoughts

The Eastwood Bluetooth turntable arrives already assembled and well protected in a box detailing all of its various capabilities. But, this portable turntable has proven me wrong. The actual performance is quite solid with no issues with skipping or uneven play. The sound quality is surprising to say the least. And, there are about as many features on this as you can expect in a turntable.
