About this deal

What's hooked me the most is that the end of the 3rd book, ends like it's the actual end. Yet I know there are 2 more books in this series so I'm quite interested to see what they are about one day. Ohh I really enjoyed the original first story as a kid. So to revisit the characters was such fun. The 2nd and 3rd books in this trilogy were equally as entertaining. I had always wondered what would have happened if the story had continued and now I know. Denny, Phillip. A Guide for Using The Indian in the Cupboard in the Classroom. Omri receives a unique birthday present - a cupboard that his brother found. In conjunction with a beautiful key his mother had, Omri discovers that the key can magically transform any cupboard or trunk into a transmogrifier that turns plastic toys into tiny, flesh-and-blood humans. It's an all right book in terms of writing and craft. While the book does have some elements of racism, it tends to be more unfortunate than premeditated, like The Scarlet Pimpernel. Some may also be our overreacting: the whole "me talks" thing gets pegged as racism a bit too much considering how hard it is for anyone not raised in multiple languages at birth to become as fluent in a second tongue as even a native small child. But there is an edge that might tweak the reader.

Indian': A Cupboard Full of Magic: Movie review: The children's tale of a toy coming to life is told in a captivating, gentle, low-key manner". Los Angeles Times. July 14, 1995. Another exciting book of this series is called ‘The Mystery of the Cupboard’. It was first published in 1993 and features the same set of characters as in the previous book. The story begins by depicting that Omri’s family moves to Dorset after their house gets destroyed by the tornado. They inherit a house owned by Omri’s great-great aunt. During the repair work on the house’s roof, the repairmen find a mysterious box and a journal and hand it over to Omri. He finds the journal labeled as ‘The Account’. It was written the great-great aunt, Jessica Charlotte, just before her death. As Omri begins to read the contents of The Account, he learns that Jessica possessed a rare gift that she used to tell people’s fortune. As Omri continues to read, he comes to know about a set of precious earrings that were stolen during Jessica’s time.Found this book under my sisters bed.. because she's a hoarder and shit.. so I was so freaking happy to read this book! I remember the movie (because I also own that shit too) but for some reason I have NEVER read this book! I really need to sit down and reconsider life changes.. so that I actually read a book before it becomes a movie! MAYBE ONE DAY GUYS! Lynne Reid Banks is a British author of books for children and adults. Cons: "problematic" is an understatement when it comes the ridiculous stereotypes *combined* with the whole "he's a real person, this has some basis in fact" things like the longhouse vs. teepee problem. Needless to say, I cringed during all the Little Bear parts.
