Kay’s spear, battle-axe, and dagger were right where they should be. But no sword. “Kay…” he said, “how about a battle-axe?”

Success!

Here is a tale of young Arthur. Read by young Murray years ago. And what young Murray - Mhoireach in the ancient tongue - what young Mhoireach found most fascinating was the training Arthur received from Merlin, including the wizard turning him into animals, and more, so that Arthur better understood the world around him and grew empathetic towards it. I particularly remember Arthur becoming a fish 🐠 The Brave Little Toaster (1987) • Valiant (2005) • The Wild (2006) • A Christmas Carol (2009) • Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) • Mars Needs Moms (2011) • Strange Magic (2015) • The Lion King (2019) Arthur is known as the Wart and is raised by Ector, as in other variations. He is 'educated' by Merlin, who just turns him into numerous animals throughout the narrative: an ant, a merlin (of course), a fish. These were humorous to read but the narrative did get repetitive. The sword is in the stone, etc. Finding Nemo/ Finding Dory: Nemo • Dory • Hank • Crush • Bruce • Baby Dory • Destiny • Bailey • Pearl • Platinum Nemo • Darla The film makes a cameo appearance on Once Upon a Time in the episode " The Dark Swan" as the film a young Emma goes to see and receives a cryptic warning from a disguised Merlin.

Sometimes, I choose the next book I am going to read based on the sound of the narrator's voice. That was the case with this book. It was the middle of the night and I couldn't relax enough to go to sleep, so, I listened to excerpts from my queue of audiobooks. I was looking for a narrator that had a pleasant voice that I could relax to, as the story unwound. Neville Jason does a wonderful job of narrating all the characters and is lovely to listen to. The message of the story is that you can try your hardest but the outcome would be the same as everything is fixed, so why bother?! Biologist and author Merlin Sheldrake (of 'Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds and Shape Our Futures') is joined by the science journalist Jo Marchant (of 'Human Cosmos' and 'Cure') and presenter Harriett Gilbert. Most readers know, at least heard of, some format of this story. I know I’ve read various abridged books to my children when they were young. Perhaps you’ve seen the 1963 Disney film adaptation The Sword in the Stone. I decide to listen to an audio format narrated by Neville Jason after seeing the book on Guardian 1000 Books to Read and 1001 Children’s Books to Read list.

The boys’ lessons continue, although Merlyn pays more attention to The Wart. Kay is envious of this attention, and The Wart begs Merlyn to give Kay an adventure too. In one of their excursions, they meet Little John, who leads them to “Robin Wood” and Marian. They stay with Robin for a long time, and eventually meet a griffin, whom Kay kills, taking its head as a trophy. During the fight, the griffin breaks The Wart’s collar bone. He was an English master at Stowe School from 1930 to 1936 and died aboard a ship in Piraeus, Greece, on January 17. Mr. White was 57 years old. He was returning home to England after a lecture tour in the United States. Later, they practice jousting and Wart bemoans the fact that he will never become a knight. Following this, King Pellinore arrives and tilts against Grunmore Grummerson, a knight in the service of Ector. Pellinore loses and the match devolves into a brawl. After this, on a dreary day, Wart decides he wants to become a hawk, which Merlyn allows him to do. He runs into Cully, Kay's falcon, in a group of militaristic falcons and is forced to demonstrate bravery to them. He succeeds and is celebrated with a song from the company.
