About this deal

It's time to move on and start living my life. This summer, I'm going to ask him to take my V-card with no strings attached. This story could have worked for me...i.e. virginal heroine and manwhore hero who've secretly always loved each other... if the heroine wasn't also the pursuer in the book!!! Early on in the story, she's practically begging him to be the one that takes her virginity. I'm so embarrassed for her honestly. Finding it very hard to like this heroine right now. “No” means “no” when a woman says it but not when a man says it? Nothing pretty or sexy about a h who doesn’t take no for an answer; a heroine who is so blinded by her own issues that she can’t see how uncomfortable the H is with her constant begging for sex. No matter what her reasons are, her coming on to him while he is clearly rejecting her, is off putting. The characters are well-developed and their journey to recovery is portrayed in a sensitive way. The book ends on a hopeful note that feels realistic.

Then when he said he loves her, she said it is only because he is afraid of losing her, and leave his house. If you can look past how double standards major man-ho H is and how it is brought up SO SO many times .. then it is okay book. h says to H when they are young, that she would date ONLY christian. And ofc H is ruled out. So they both pine for each other. Over the last year h has second thoughts... and decides she can date a NON christian. I believe my definition of "kinky" and BookTok's definition have a bit of a... difference of opinion. I’ve been in love with Cole Walker since the first day he walked into class and sat beside me. Who could blame me? Six foot five, gorgeous, and a sweetheart to boot. He’s charming enough to get any girl he wants. I understand that her character was supposed to find herself, and grow- but I just didn't care enough about her? I couldn't relate to her, and just disliked the majority of her interactions with everyone.

I’ve seen you with women you want. You’re touchy. You can’t keep your hands off them, and you never touch me. At least, not normally.”

Heroine is a doormat that says she isn’t but in the end is and the hero is a jerk, he says he is overprotective but he actually just wants her in a little cage all for himself, they even say that point a bunch of times in the book to him and many times by the heroine but it just vanishes by the end? Until we share a kiss that makes the world stand still, and I begin to wonder…maybe I’ve misread him all along.

It turns out that Cole, aka the manwhore, is traumatized with some family stuff and is afraid of commitment. So he rejects her offer because he don't want to lose their friendship.

Purity (Purity, book 1) by Skyler Mason - Fantastic Fiction

At no point did I think he was redeemable or likeable and I don't think she should've ended up with him at all. This should've ended with her single and going to her last year of college. Basically she is a Christian girl who realizes that she need a change in the way she is livin her live. So far fine. So she make a to do list with impure things se wants to do within 3 months. It pisses me off that after he told her that, she was only thinking like "oh, I'm sure I'm going to make him change his mind and want to be with me". Skylar Mason is a contemporary romance author who specializes in steamy, angst-filled stories that push boundaries. She enjoys exploring the complexities of human relationships, and her books often feature strong, independent heroines and alpha males who are not afraid to show their vulnerable side. Main CharactersNormally, I’m not an ARC reader, but received this one through a FB giveaway. And was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it, particularly since I avoid anything NA like the plague. From puritanical virgin to primal sex kitten, Livvy’s story has allowed me expand the repertoire of smut I’ve consumed into a realm I could have lived without knowing existed. It doesn't pisses me off that she felt that he broke her heart. I just don't understand the fact that she is mad with him for not overcoming his fears in ten minutes, when she did not change her way of seeing her life and living it in that amount of time. That she didn't leave him time to assimilate anything. A Jane Bennet style FMC whose tragic flaw is that she gives too much of herself and doesn't ask for what she wants. Watching her overcome this is SO satisfying! Heroine is a complete and utter doormat while the hero is a manwhore who has sex with countless OW while supposedly being in love with her the whole time. He even attempts to have sex with OW after he and the heroine have passionately made out (it gets interrupted with OW for external reasons but they still kiss, etc).

She and her best friend have had a strange relationship for 4 years. Basically boyfriend/girlfriend without a real relationship. She’s on a shelf, and well, he is not. This may annoy some readers but honestly, it feels necessary to the storyline. I'm not Christian nor religious and I think the whole purity thing is horrid. The way her dad cried and said she was not a 'little girl' anymore - I wanted to vomit What happens when a shy virgin raised in purity culture asks her gorgeous, player best friend to take her V-card?I’ve been in love with Cole Walker since the first day he walked into class and sat beside me. Who could blame me? Six foot five, gor... It’s time to move on and start living my life. This summer, I’m going to ask him to take my V-card with no strings attached. And one should certainly never celebrate a heroine who, in the process of trying to prove she wasn't "weak", acts in a toxic manner towards the person she supposedly loves. I understand not wanting to cave to another person's will. I understand wanting to make them earn your love. But when a person is clearly going through hell, and has laid their heart wide open for you, and you know good and well what you want from them, it is not okay for you to make them jump through hoops.
