About this deal

The GM easy use features could be mentally brushed aside by more serious users - the GF7/8 and GX850 models leave the toy image intact and continually in the user's face. Using the remote control, it is possible to capture selfies while jumping with the Jump Snap function. The smartphone held by the subject detects when they are at the highest position and the camera automatically releases the shutter. I understand your reasons and they are as valid as anybody else reasons. But not all have the same criteria ;) Tastes and color...

The shot below was taken using a shutter speed of 60 seconds at ISO 200. The camera takes the same amount of time again to apply noise reduction, so for example at the 15 second setting the actual exposure takes 30 seconds.microSD Memory Card, microSDHC Memory Card, microSDXC Memory Card (Compatible with UHS-I standard SDHC / SDXC Memory Cards)

The GM series provided camera bodies that looked like toys but performed like real cameras. The GX850 and its earlier GF cousins now add more toy-like features to make sure that they are more likely to be used like toys. As you can see from the chart, the two areas the GX850 has an advantage over its direct competitors include 4K video capture and size/weight. Recording stops when the continuous recording time exceeds 5 minutes with [MP4] in [4K] More impressive selfies with advanced Self Shot modes Auto*, Auto/Red-eye Reduction*, Forced On, Forced On/Red-eye Reduction, Slow Sync., Slow Sync./Red-eye Reduction, Forced Off *For iA, iA+ only.

Detail is resolved well, with the overall impression being fantastic throughout the sensitivity range up to around ISO 12800, while even at 100%, detail is impressive at the lower sensitivities. From around ISO 3200, if you examine at 100%, you’ll begin to see some smoothing in certain areas of the image, giving a painterly feel, but so long as you’re printing or displaying at normal sizes, or not subjecting images to extensive crops this shouldn’t be an issue. ISO 12800 is usable if you’re printing or viewing at very small sizes, but it’s best avoided. ISO 25600 renders images pretty much unusable, leaving a very smoothed and muddy style of image, but it’s there if you’re absolutely desperate to get a shot. As far as I can tell there's no great advantage to be gained with the GX880, but do anticipate eventually owning one. (optical image stabilisation) built-in. This will help keep your shots steady when using slower shutter speeds, for example in low-light conditions. it also has an AA filter which reduces resolution and a notch of DR/ISO. The shutter is also not as quiet as the Panasonic.

So overall, although there's very little new on offer, the new Panasonic Lumix GX880 remains an attractively designed, compellingly compact starter camera. The last image I commented on, was shot with the original Pentax KP film camera. the modern digital Pebtax KP accirding Mattias Burling mirrorless cameras a run for their money. Earlier yesterday I was looking at the specs of another great value Pentax camera from 2013, the Pentax K50 (Editor's choice Enthusiast DSLR). I appreciate Pentax cameras, I have used the oriPentax Pentax MX (film) SLR, a very strong Olympus OM contenter. L) / 3232x2424(M) / 2272x1704(S) / 1824x1368 (When attaching 3D lens in Micro Four Third system standard) i hope it crashes and burns in the marketplace so they may learn from it and stop putting crap like this into the ever shrinking lineup of interchangeable lens cameras

Did Panasonic ever regret that they made the GM series such a capable camera that they needed to revise it to appeal to less involved users? For every new less involved user won over there might be three others who are waiting for the next GM that might never come. Yes, reading forums etc you seem unfortunately to be correct in estimating Panasonic decisions. IBIS and higher mp sensor are both technically possible as even smaller cameras from Sony etc demonstrate this. But still a pity given the range of cost effective and good lenses available for m43 cameras. Above: Here are 40 or the 60 images grabbed during the two second 4K Photo burst. I pushed the button roughly halfway through this sequence so had I been shooting in a conventional mode, I’d have missed the point of initial take-off. By capturing 30 images before and after the press though, 4K Photo has provided a wealth of images for me to choose from. You can extract as many as you like, with each being recorded as a new 8 Megapixel JPEG.

The GX880 is also known as the GF10 and GF90 in other markets. Panasonic says the GX880 is "the one for the fashion blogger." Not to say 20 or 21mm would be any bad, but I don't see how it would fit especially wide scenery as a near normal angle of view prime. This makes it ideal for those who want to always have a camera on them, but don’t want to carry something bulky and heavy around with them. As this is a camera marketed at entry-level users, the design and usage of the camera has been kept pretty simple. If you resort to a monochrome mode, your high-frame rate option gets ghosted out with no explanation whatsoever. The focus peaking settings and the actually engagement of it are in completely separate sub menus. For people who are new to digital interchangeable lens system cameras, the LUMIX GX880 provides a variety of shooting assist functions such as iA (Intelligent Auto) mode and Scene Guide. Huh, after Googling it I see Casio's TR range (like 3-4 models) does have a 21mm equivalent focal length lens... On a camera largely marketed for selfies, seems kinda bizarre tbh but there must be a market for it if they have a bunch of models in the same form factor.
