About this deal

We found that the RGB lighting didn’t quite reproduce all of the color spectra accurately or consistently; especially white, which appeared as more pale blue, and yellow and orange looked greenish. Sometimes, some random actions just occurred during gameplay, such as opening the galaxy map and engaging the frame shift drive. Sometimes this happened when we first started playing, and at other times after a few hours of gameplay. An internet search pulled up threads about this. Seemingly the unit’s high-power draw could be the issue, even though we connected our Logitech X56 to an aftermarket USB 3.0 PCIe card. Whatever the cause, unplugging and re-plugging the USB cables fixes the issue; at least until the next time it happens.

Logitech X56 looked and felt solid out of the box, and throughout our 400-plus hours of testing, it remained fully functional with no problems in terms of its build quality. If you want it to be a more fixed and permanent part of your setup, the X56 has holes present in bases to affix it to nearly any surface. Logitech X56 has two rotary knobs on the throttle’s base that, like its dials, can be mapped to anything. However, we couldn’t find any real benefit in doing so. Normally I play sound through my 2.1 full range speaker system through the PC optical out connection but being in the early hours and not wanting to wake the wife I connected my new Turtle Beach recon headset for the first time using the green and pink connections on the front of the desktop unit and had to fiddle about with the sound settings to get it to work. Previously with my old stereo headphones I just connected to the headphone output on the DAC. The RGB lighting is the most aesthetically pleasing feature of Logitech X56. You can set it to match, complement, or contrast to the color of your gaming keyboard, making for a beautiful setup.

Sure it's not as highly modular as some, but this is a really professional-feeling yoke. For half a grand, this is a super-premium price, but there's hardly a thing about this yoke that feels out of place. It's honestly no wonder Boeing wanted their name on it.

HOTAS programming interface is not user friendly but without it you can only get 33% functionality of the buttons. The mode switch will only function for buttons bound to the keyboard through the HOTAS software meaning, if you use a game interface to set buttons, it will not register the mode button. Additionally if the same button is set in game and in the HOTAS software you will get both inputs at the same time. You will spend upwards of 20 hours setting up your HOTAS keybindings profile unless someone shares theirs with you. Youtube makes it doable, but not easy. The hardest parts to figure out will be knobs and multidirectional controls which will be semifunctional if set in game. Trial and error I did a bit of a research. 1st i wanted to buy Saitek Pro Flight X56 Rhino or Saitek X52 Pro but i saw people are complaining about poor quality. It's great to see cross-compatibility with the Xbox Series X/S, although the Xbox branding does pull away from the authentic look a little. It's an easy thing to overlook, but it would be better if it was optional to have your switches marked X, Y, A, and B. On the other hand, the T16000M throttle does not have the benefit of a centre detent, ehich would be my only real wish for as an improvement. There is the potential that all this can get confusing, but once you've got yourself all mapped out and are used to it, the Raptor Mach 2 is a dream. It's a really smooth, sturdy piece of kit despite not being as heavy as its sister, the Raptor Mach 1. I own a X56 (and the X52, and X45 before it). The X56 is a good "mid-range" HOTAS in the sense that it offers a really solid control layout and can be quite versatile. That being said, where it is strong in versatility, it is weak in overall quality. The X56 ghost key. The easiest fix is to use a powered USB 2 Hub, not a 3 or 3.1. The next easiest solution if you want to keep using a powered USB3+ hub, or want to direct connect directly to the PC, is to turn the lights off on the X56. Just drag the brightness down to 0 on all three colors. It generally fixes the issue. It is best to simply not use unpowered hubs at all. A one-handed rudder twisting control keeps a small footprint for your setup as a whole, and there's still plenty of programmable buttons to fiddle with as well. An 8-way hat switch, throttle control, and three-axis movement, there's an impressive array of features baked in for the price here. Not only that, but it comes with a solid build quality and a smaller footprint - perfect if you don't want to keep your setup on the desk all the time.

Our goal is to help people expand their knowledge of the various forms of technology including PCs, laptops, and much more so that they may have the best possible experience when computing. The throttle is also super tight for a while, I've had mine for a few months and the resistance is where I want it now but I did have to break it in first and turn the resistance down as far as I could. I am interested in buying my first HOTAS. I've been looking at second-hand and found the following (compared with retail price) The included HOTAS configuration software gives you 189 programmable controls. The 13 axes, 5 HATS, and 31 programmable buttons can be customized over three modes, while the dead bands can be adjusted with the response curves to fine-tune axes. Also, to assign any button to any number of in-sim commands. You can even assign mouse and keyboard commands, from single-key inputs to timed and macro commands.

The second major issue is the potentiometers. Saitek has always used cheap potentiometers for its controls and that manifests itself to the user as "shaky" inputs. This can be seen on the thumb wheels and rotaries and can sometimes become so pronounced that you can't bind certain controls to them without creating problems for yourself. There is no fix, it is just cheap parts. Take to the skies and experience the joy of flight in the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator, at its best on Logitech G flight equipment. Travel the world in amazing detail with over 37 thousand airports, 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountains, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic, and more. Test your piloting skills against the challenges of night flying, real-time atmospheric simulation, and live weather in a dynamic and living world.

it may be a good idea to monitor the 5v rail in bios for volts drop or spikes if happerning across multiple titles (ideally should be smooth) Similarly, we found that the conical hat above the d-pad style is positioned just a little too far for the thumb, so we didn’t use it much. The thumb trigger which sat next to it was also difficult to reach.I bought Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS 9.1.2017. Since then it has been in use almost daily with ED and some fight simulators. I do not need to use keyboard or mouse at all during flight in ED. Originally posted by ZEEK (Trained Navy Seal):thanks alot everyone! do you have any other recommendations i could look in too? Why this D&D actual play series featuring the voices of Geralt and FF16's Clive is going to be the next big thing None of that takes away from the professional, satisfying feel of the whole setup. Sure, there are some oddities with the reverse thrust levers being not the most intuitive, but otherwise, there's hardly a thing about this yoke that feels out of place. Most actual pilots I've spotted reviewing this yoke are really impressed with how accurate the design is compared to the real deal.
