About this deal

This book is one belter of a crime thriller which I devoured in an afternoon, I just had to keep on reading I HAD TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!! The Steadman family have just moved into their new home. Unbeknownst to them this is the same house that three year old Lily Murphy disappeared from thirty years ago. Now that I have set the scene. The story is set in two time periods 1985 when Lily disappeared and the present day. Each chapter is given over to a little more of what actually happened 30 years ago. The truth, lies and so many heart in your mouth moments. Heartbraking, intense and so much more. Personalised bedtime book and sleep aid for children - "The Sleepytown Express" - a sleep story & song for calming kids at nighttime Andrea Mara is an amazing storyteller and weaves a thoroughly enjoyable tale where you think you know what’s happening and then BAM! a plot twist throws everything you thought you knew out of the window! The characters in Hide and Seek are hiding so many secrets from each other that I learned to trust no one. And Joanna also has a past she doesn’t want to reveal, not even to her family, and is much closer to the truth about what happened to Lily than she wants to admit! But the whole community needs to look within and Joanna may be the catalyst needed to solve the mystery once and for all. This is a cute picture book that teaches positional prepositions while telling the story of three animal friends playing hide-and-seek. The premise is strong, and the concepts are pretty clear. Each time a character hides, the others go looking for them UNDER, BESIDE, INSIDE, OVER, etc. The illustrations clearly show the meaning of each of those words. In Hide and Seek Detective Inspector John Rebus is confronted with the top and bottom of Edinburgh society.

Terribly flat dialogue and unrealistic situations. Characters were cardboard. Heroine was unlikable and stupid. An unpredictable, twisty read from start to finish. Any fans of the thriller genre this is one you don't wanna miss!!! I knew when I saw this cover and read the synopsis that I had to read this book! And I am pleased to say that this book does not disappoint in the slightest! It's full of coming-of-age, friendships, mystery/suspense, nightmares, and more. This book is a cautionary tale for abiding by the rules of any game played. Breaking the rules can have serious consequences. And in this case, the game they are playing is Hide and Seek. I can't even count how many hours and hours I spent playing this game with my friends and family as a child... but now I will never look at it the same again! Kiersten White is an author that has made a name for herself in the young adult fantasy world but Hide is her first attempt at an adult novel. Hide is a thrilling paranormal horror story. The character to set this story off is the creepy as hell Ice Cream Man; Hyde (yes, is this a 'hint' to Hide as in the title?) who delivers Ice cream to the celebratory 'Welcome Home Zee' party that is to be held for Zee after being home awhile now, and is to be 'reintroduced' to his best friends. The 6 kids wait and wait for the appearance of Zee, and while they wait they decide to play a game of hide and seek.....never knowing that this is what and how made Zee disappear in the first place!!! It was an abandoned Amusement Park, closed after a five year old girl vanished within, her patent leather shoe caught on the branches of a topiary. "Slowly what didn't crumble rusted and what didn't rust leaned. All the walkways were lined with impassable shrubbery, undergrowth turned into overgrowth, wild plant life was riddled with thorns." after this heartfelt scene, the final ending is abrupt and leaves a lot of unanswered questions. i wish there was more closure for the supporting characters, but i'm still pleased with the way justin's story is wrapped up. Rebus enlists Detective Sergeant Brian Holmes -- "Someone who didn't know Rebus well enough to complain about being kept in the dark, about being used as a shunting engine" -- to help him out, and though there is some friction between the two they make a decent team. hide-and-seek may not be a team sport, but any Survivor-savvy strategist knows the importance of forming alliances, and some of our merry band will approach this adventure like any other reality-tv scenario—speechifying and working their angles for the hidden cameras, but they will soon discover that the stakes are higher than advertised, the game is rigged, and—far from being a random selection process, the contestants have all been chosen because of the one thing they all have common.

From the dynamic, dream team of Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett comes the final instalment in the hilarious shape trilogy. In this story we follow fourteen contestants competing in a Hide-and-Seek contest at an abandoned amusement park. Is it a perfect book? No. But it's an easy read with a unique concept, interesting characters, a creepy atmosphere, and social commentary sprinkled on top. I kept pausing my work to read a few more chapters because I needed to know how it ended! year-old Joanna forfeits her career to become a SAHM (girl, 11; boy, 9; girl, 3) when she and her husband, 49, move into a house in a closed community where he grew up outside of Dublin.I added this book to my NetGalley TBR a while ago. I have read another book by the author and enjoyed that, and this one did not disappoint. When Joanna discovers that their new house was home to a little girl who went missing thirty-three years ago, she is obsessed with finding out what happened to little Lily. I loved this book! As I mentioned on my stories, I started reading it on the plane home from Tenerife. As it was an evening flight I had a little doze and had a dream involving ALL of the characters in the book! Completely invested in the storyline, and I had only just started it! Reading this book you are dropped into the tangled lives of the people in this community. You join Joanna on her hunt for the truth and see how rumours destroyed lives. Everyone claims to know their neighbours, but the truth is buried somewhere among the rumours and suspicion. You often wonder if the truth will ever surface. Too impatient, unwilling to really flesh Rebus out, Rankin offers another practise run with Hide and Seek, as he tries to figure the character out. I am the author-illustrator of funny picture books for kids, including the interactive book, Animals Go Vroom!. As an illustrator, I revel in creating jokes and storylines in the pictures that kids can follow along with by themselves. And as a mother of two small children myself, I know first-hand the magical experience of reading books with toddlers that keep them guessing and giggling along the way.
