Beautifully written, poignant and moving and it evokes the Hebrides magically. I couldn't put it down’ I liked the MCs and the storyline. It was interesting and the characters felt real, unlike many recent CRs where the same cheesy, vulgar characters seem to keep on popping up. I don't want to say much about the story itself - IMO it's better to go in blind and let the story unfold. Moving, emotional and tender and I was so taken with the protagonists, Nell and Dougie' -- Nina Pottell Overall, I like how we see the contrast in Nell’s family, from her eccentric and now dementia ridden mother to her stern, evasive aunt who hasn’t been around much in her adult years.

Don’t you just love it when characters in a book become to feel like friends or family? That is precisely what happened with the characters in Little Wing, Nell and Dougie especially. They just brought such warmth to me, and I wanted nothing but the best outcome for them both. In the novel we travel to Camden, Colchester and the island of Harris. So as you can imagine the scenery changes rapidly. However the scene setting which stood out for me most was the island of Harris. The way North describes the island is so poetic and beautiful that it is brought to life in vivid colours and you can tell the writer has a close connection with the island with the amount of love and time taken to describe the beaches, the nature and the breathtaking views. Believe it or not this is my first Freya North book, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was utterly captivated by this multi generational story of families and love and secrets. I listened to it on audiobook and the narrator was superb and enhanced the story massively (not that it needed it). North gave such wonderful descriptions, I wanted to go immediately!
