About this deal

Twelve has been through a lot. Her entire family was killed by the Cave Clan and she gave up her name to become a Huntling, training in the art of hunting monsters at the Hunting Lodge. But Twelve is more interested in revenge than protecting the various Clans. And so when the walls are breached and a little girl is taken, she departs the Lodge on a rescue mission. Teaming up with Dog, the Stone Guardian of the Lodge, Twelve ends up on an epic adventure that will change her life, her name – and her entire world. Set in the snowy northern forests of an imagined prehistoric world, Fireborn is the middle-grade debut of the decade. At turns exciting, funny and heart wrenchingly sad, it marks the introduction of an unstoppable new voice in children's storytelling. The digitally native, all year round, online literature and books festival, with new content released every week is a free-for-all-users festival. The cover and the title of this book drew me in straight away, it’s just the kind of thing I like. It’s quite a chunky book, but it’s broken into chapters so you can easily read a section at a time. The only problem is, I just kept thinking ‘one more chapter’ and then before you know it you’ve read loads! Fireborn wouldn’t be the kind of book I’d select if I was in a bookshop, (I’m not a big fantasy nor a prehistorical fan), however, I was asked to read it as part of a blog tour and I am very happy I agreed. I loved this book about a girl called Twelve and some of her not quite friends Five, Six and Seven. This book should come with a CANNOT BE PUTDOWN warning. Children are going to fall in lovewith this heart-stopping adventure, and I was withTwelve and Dog every thrilling step of the way’ Jenny McLachlan, author of The Land of Roar
