About this deal

There's a way women can be powerful, and it's not breaking down the walls. We've got these chips in the wall, and at some point, men are going to move over, and we will be able to take care of things that they've screwed up. At some point, that's going to happen, and it's already happening in many ways in many cities. We happily arrive at my favorite – iris perfume. Now, the thing you have to understand about Iris Perfume or What the Underpants are Hiding, they can’t capture the bloom’s smell except through headspace technology, and even that is pretty… Continue Reading →... I was like, "Just think of a madras bedspread." There was this feeling of the '60s—all fresh and breaking out, but not like Charlie, you know what I mean? I always wanted to stay away from that, even though it was the most popular scent of the time. But I didn't like it. I thought it was for good girls. I wasn't one. I remember Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent; my boyfriend was wearing it. And I just went, "I'm gonna wear it now." You know, I like that I'm taking it. I don't think it makes any difference either, who it's for. If you gravitate to it, then it's yours.

Features heady spice top notes of Cardamom and Mate Tea, a warm heart of saffron and suede, and the velvety dry down of musk But then, it shifts. The scent is pitched as a "spicy vanillic oriental," and I don't know if I even agree with this. If anything, it balances being a green, metallic vanilla, settling down to its spicier side when it reaches its half-life. This scent is all vanilla, even if it takes it a minute to get there. An hour or two into wear, you notice a true vanilla note begin to writhe off of your skin as if it was waiting for the right time to show itself. Over time, vanilla becomes the focus of the scent, with all of the other notes singing its fanfare, laying down palm leaves for its arrival. The vanilla is literal enough to be warm and inviting on anyone who wears it, but the other notes prop it up and give it depth in a way that makes you keep coming. Frederic Malle Cologne Indelebile and its soaring sunshiny scent reminds me of some other orange blossom perfume, but which one? I scurried over to my oversized Orange Blossom Perfume post to get some ideas. L’Artisan Seville is gorgeous and a little naughty,… Continue Reading →... The lukewarm reception of Cher's first scent had little to do with the scent itself and more to do with the fact that people didn't really seem to get it. Celebrities weren't attaching their names to products quite yet, and it was even before endorsements became commonplace. People were still shopping at department store counters and looking for luxury in the places they'd always found it. Consumers didn't yet know how to contextualize a celebrity scent. It’s iris day! Three new iris releases or releasing soon – Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve, Coolife Le Sixième and Armani/Prive Iris Celadon. Can there be any better day on the face of the earth than when three great iris perfumes… Continue Reading →...

Cher: Eau de Couture

I don't think in terms of genders," Cher says. "I didn't specifically want to create a 'genderless' fragrance. I created it for people who like it. I've worn men's fragrances. Val [Kilmer] used to wear Kouros, which was a men's fragrance, and I liked how it smelled and wore it sometimes. I've also worn Canoe and Taboo, though my mom didn't think Taboo was for 'good' girls." London Fashion Week Paris Fashion Week Milan Fashion Week New York Fashion Week News Fashion Wedding Ideas Beauty Hair Trends Life + culture Holiday Inspiration All videos Elle fashion cupboard Capturing and bottling the scent of one entire decade—let alone four—is a seemingly impossible task. But Cher? Cher can do anything. The icon's latest perfume collection, Decades, is out now and features four distinct scents that capture the aura of the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s from her unique perspective. "I think the thing that's the coolest is that I was famous and in all of them," she tells BAZAAR.com. She designed each one in partnership with Scent Beauty to evoke a feeling of those years: a warm floral for the free-love era, an amber woody scent for her disco days, a floral and fruity essence for the punky '80s, and an airy floral to channel '90s pop escapism. Serge Lutens perfume has long been one of my favorite niche house perfumes. Since they are one of the few that have been around a long time not yet sold to LVMH or Estee Lauder (yeah, I know Shiseido owns them,… Continue Reading →... If it's anything like her next level bedazzled outfits, we 'Believe' it's going to be epic. At present there isn't a firm release date for the perfume, but instead Cher has said it will launch 'when I'm ready'.

I have not, but this post makes want to watch Mermaids again. Clove, vetiver, and vanilla orchid sounds like Charlotte, and all the rest is Rachel 🙂 I can't say exactly why it took four years," Cher tells me over the phone. "Nothing ever took me four years. I just knew when I had it. A few times, I thought I had it, but a few days later, I changed my mind. It was kind of like, you know it when you see it."The ’60s is a mix of Chypre Flora with notes of Bergamot, Rose Damascena, and Patchouli, representing the nostalgia, peace, and love era. Yeah, Cher always seems to be the underdog. I don’t know HOW she manages to do that seeing she has been successful the whole way along in so many different areas.

Those Uninhibited minis go for SQUILLIONS nowadays. 10+ years ago they were less rare and only mildly expensive. I wanted a heavy scent. Not that I wanted people to run out of the elevator, but I wanted to be sure it lasted beyond the first spray." On top of being a diamanté encrusted, feathery style icon, the most ageless grandmother in Mamma Mia 2 and singer of every pop music banger from the past five decades, Cher is gifting us an entirely new business venture to become obsessed with. First of all, I'm astonished that I have been famous for sixty years. When I started everything was changing, and just like music, art, and clothing, perfume also changed. These scents represent those Decades for me. There was electricity in the air and life smelled like excitement,” commented Cher. Hey Posse! Cher! One of the queens of style. An icon who has managed to stay relevant and popular through highs, lows and a fair smattering of mediocrity. Her original 1987 fragrance Uninhibited was a direct CHANEL No 5 descendant, all fizzy aldehydes and fruity space flowers over woodsy vanilla. One of my besties is a complete Cher aficionado who follows her concerts around the world and I found him a small bottle of it in the early 2010s, he has loved and cherished it. So, weirdly, in 2019 she decided that the world needed a new Cher fragrance, enter Eau de Couture.I often wonder if we are living in the last era of true living legends. Of people who just are stars, point blank, without relying on or playing into the endless news cycle, fresh social media platforms, and viral content. Madonna. Janet. Celine. Tina. Diana. Their icon status is non-negotiable. Who would we deem untouchable from today’s group of girls? Britney, of course. Without question, Beyoncé, who is arguably the last celebrity to maintain an air of mystery while consistently being at the center of the conversation. I didn't specifically want to create a 'genderless' fragrance. I created it for people who like it." Frederic Malle Promise is the latest release from the line. Inspired by the Middle East market, like Night, but without that high of a price tag, it has notes of rose, apple, rose, pink pepper, rose, clove, rose, patchouli, rose,… Continue Reading →... I have a precious mini of Uninhibited that I guard with my life. I adore Cher she’s such an icon and I’m very determined to seek this one out ?
