About this deal

As sad as this may be, I developed a level of whiskey snobery over the past few years. My reasonsing was, "Meh, it's only blended Irish whiskey, and it doesn't hold a flame to single malt scotch whiskies, blah, blah, blah."

The aroma is gentle and fruity, with hints of Mandarin orange. Also a slight sourness. Not very expressive but not uninviting either. The cornerstone of our family, Bushmills Original is a blend of our own triple distilled malt whiskey with Irish grain whiskey Hill, George (1877). An historical account of the plantation in Ulster at the commencement of the seventeenth century, 1608-1620. M'Caw, Stevenson & Orr. p.393. ISBN 9785876338280.

In November 2014 it was announced that Diageo had traded the Bushmills brand with Proximo Spirits in exchange for the 50% of the Don Julio brand of tequila that Diageo did not already own. [8] Bushmills 1608: Originally released as a special 400th Anniversary whiskey; since 2009 it will be available only in the Whiskey Shop at the distillery and at duty-free shops. [11] Body/Balance - Slightly oily, very smooth mouthfeel. The aromas transfer nicely to the mouth, with the various notes co-existing very nicely.Nose - Much deeper/richer than the JW, the sherry comes through strong, followed by toffee and marshmallow. Has the fizz of the JW but with cream and pears. More fruity. Beautifully balanced. Burt Reynolds plays a police lieutenant in the 1975 film Hustle whose favourite drink is Bushmills. On the tongue this dram really comes to life. First thing to notice is the smoothness, with more honey. Then the malt comes to life with a oak and - hang on - spices! Bushmills Original – Irish whiskey blend sometimes called White Bush or Bushmills White Label. The grain whiskey is matured in American oak casks. Jourgensen, Al; Wiederhorn, Jon (9 July 2013). Ministry: The Lost Gospels According To Al Jourgensen. Boston, MA: Da Capo Press. ISBN 9780306822186. OCLC 811206550– via the Internet Archive.

According to my extensive research (i.e. 3 seconds in google), the single malt component of this blend spent a good deal of time in Oloroso sherry casks. Nose: The nose is deep, rich and fruity; full of brandied plums, almonds, allspice and brown sugar. In Rescue Me [ which?] the series, seasons 1–7, Bushmills is the common whiskey shared and favourited among the entire Irish Gavin Family and referred to in at least ten episodes. I hate whisky snobs (Sorry if you are one). What's wrong with this - short answer, nothing. It's a fun, complicated, busy whisky for all that it's a dirty Irish blend, bey. Finish: short, smooth, a collection of the floral, grain and oak notes with green apples. Short finish that is consistently blends its flavours. It is fruity and sweet on the palate, but with a sharp edge. Peach again, but also clear notes of wood, which I had less in previous releases. Honey and allspice. Sultanas? I confess I am just a tad disappointed after the wonderful nose. We Are Kilbeggan". Kilbeggan Distilling Co . Retrieved 31 March 2022. 1917:Owing to food shortages throughout Great Britain, the distilling of whiskey in Ireland is suspended.
