The AOC Q27P2Q is a FreeSync monitor, but it also works flawlessly with Nvidia’s G-Sync Compatible mode. Most productivity monitors do not offer Adaptive Sync, so this is a big bonus in our books. Input lag sits at a little over 9ms, so there is no need to worry about de-synced instances while gaming. Thoughts on the AOC Q27P2Q On paper, the AOC U27P2CA is identical in almost every way to its sibling, the AOC Q27P2CA, but one: this monitor has a 4K panel, while the Q27P2CA settles for 1440p. This is a 1440p monitor with a VA panel that boasts a 1ms G2G response time, a 240Hz refresh rate and HDR 600 support (complete with rudimentary local dimming). It’s sensationally bright – topping out at just under the stated 600 nits in our tests – and produces an equally impressive contrast ratio. As you’d imagine, gaming on this thing is a delight: 1440p at 240Hz might not always be possible but you’ll consistently benefit from the vivid colours, impressive HDR (for the price) and the aggressive, immersive 1000R curvature. There’s also very little ghosting, something many VA panels struggle with. The stand included with the AOC Q27P2Q offers tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments so you can always get a comfortable angle. Ergonomics always comes in handy during long, number crunching or editing hours. You can even swap this out with a VESA mount, but it’s completely unnecessary unless you have multiple monitors or a very small desk. Personally, I am an avid fan of JRPG's and RPG's in general, I also love old school retro platformers like Mario, and finally, for some reason, I enjoy souls-like games. The EV2795 also has a huge number of ports. Alongside two HDMI 2 ports and one DP 1.4 port, you’ll also find three USB-A 3.1 ports (plus a USB-B 3.1 port to power them) and two USB-C 3.1 ports, one of which can be used to create a daisy-chain with a second USB-C monitor. Overall we think the AOC U27P2CA gets that balance just about right, and we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a 4K office monitor that covers all the basics, especially if connectivity and versatility are important. Sometimes monitors can be very good without being spectacular, and that's the case here – it's a monitor that you'll be able to rely on for years to come. Also consider The BenQ Mobiuz EX3210R is an incredibly solid 32in curved gaming monitor with good credentials and an even better price tag. This 1440p, 165Hz VA monitor performed well on test, delivering a wide gamut of colours accurately. Contrast and brightness are both good, although the entry-level HDR 400 certification is best ignored – you won’t notice much of a change. But that’s okay: this is a vibrant monitor, and an immersive one too, thanks to that aggressive 1800R curvature. From a practical standpoint, the EX3210R is fairly basic, with no extra ports beyond the HDMI and DP video ports and a stand that provides height adjustment, swivel and tilt. That’s alright by us, though: this is a gaming monitor, after all. Hook it up to a mid-range rig and you won’t be disappointed – especially at this price.

Today, the workplace has to be more flexible than ever. Many professional users are now accustomed to using their laptops to work from almost anywhere. However, most would also agree that working on a small laptop display is not as efficient as working on a large screen. The productivity gains achieved by large panels and high resolutions are immense, as users can open multiple windows and multi-task. Unlike a laptop display, working on an ergonomic desk setup with a height-adjustable monitor results in a healthier and more comfortable working environment, which is equally important. As I’ve already mentioned, the stand is also pretty appealing. That 150mm of height adjustment is great for a monitor at this price and, combined with the other adjustment options, should keep you in perfect posture at all times. The same is true of the port selection: I’ve tested a few monitors that compromise here, settling for either a USB-C port or a USB-A hub, so it’s a real joy to see both. I’m particularly fond of the two USB-A ports mounted on the side for easy access. When we put the Q27P2CA through its paces, it produced a great set of results, indicating that the panel is colourful (max 134% sRGB coverage) and accurate (an average Delta E of 1.16 in sRGB mode). It’s bright and punchy, too – suitable for any working environment from well-lit kitchens to dingy makeshift offices. The AOC Q27P2Q offers 100% sRGB and 88% DCI-P3 coverage which is excellent for daily use, included editing for web content. The screen offers great accuracy out of the box since its deltaE average is limited to 1.30, so you won’t need to calibrate it right away. The screen already looks balanced by default, so you only need minor tweaks like adjusting the brightness before using it. Long story short: the 27-inch AOC U27P2CA wants to give you a 4K screen for your home office or your actual office for as little money as possible. It brings with it a number of useful features without dazzling in terms of its performance or the picture it produces.
