The door opens from the side and straight into the inner tent, with the porch sitting just to the left for food, drink, wet kit or at a push a small pet. The tunnel design of the tent also means it's more stable in high wind as the air can pass more freely over the top (it also means you get a better nights sleep). Featuring a Terra Nova single-hooped tapering tunnel design with external poles that not only make pitching easy but allow for vents at either end of the flysheet, ensuring the tent doesn’t fill up with condensation. Although we are confident that our Wild Country products will outperform any similar groundsheet fabric available, we recommend the use of a footprint to provide increased protection against sharp objects. Pitching takes only a matter of minutes with one pole that runs through the middle of the tent and 4 reflective guy lines. The Zephyros can be pitched with the inner attached to save time, alternatively it can be disconnected to wash or to use on it's own as a bug shelter in hot, dry climates. One is being used for Zwift and the other will actually go outside. A camp by the Linn of Dee was lovely, beautiful sunshine at sunset and a few whiskies were had, it also is in the middle of a figure of eight route wise so you have options. The main bulk of the tent is made using a tough waterproof polyester, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable without breaking the budget. One of the main benefits to using polyester is that it is less prone to UV degradation than nylon or other similar fabrics. The poles are made from a tough Superflex Alloy, while the pegs are lightweight, durable aluminium. Its a decent size inside as far as 1 person tents go - at 64cm wide inside and 220cm long. I'm 6ft and it was big enough for me!
Its been around 3 months since I last ventured out on the bike 😯☹️. A mixture of illness, starting one new job, then another, more illness and a bit of Christmas mixed in. I suppose the question would be, would I take the banshee or the Zephyros? Well, if weight were a consideration or just being lazy then I would take the WC.
One was the fact that the end pole holders split after 4 nights and for the rest of the tour were held in with gaffer tape.
