About this deal

What the company has said is that its algorithms have been re-worked and that the camera assesses camera motion more precisely. We've been impressed with what we've seen from the S5 II so far, in terms of keeping both stills still and video clips smooth. The Boost IS mode, which tries to cancel all movement for a tripod-like video look, is particularly impressive. On the other hand, when I recently had the opportunity to talk to a professional whose employer only uses Lumix S, I heard arguments that could convince me, too: Clear and realistic 48kHz/24-bit audio can be recorded by the built-in or an external microphone, while high-resolution 96kHz/24-bit recording is possible with external and XLR microphones. Lumix S5 IIX: 6K ‘open gate’ up to 30p, 5.9K up to 30p, C4K/4K 10-bit 4:2:2 internal up to 60p (APS-C/Super35 crop)

S5IIX vs S5II: Which camera is right for you? Panasonic Lumix S5IIX vs S5II: Which camera is right for you?

A new file will be created to continue recording if the continuous recording time exceeds the following conditions. Automatic Detection can be turned ON to switch between Human/ Face/Eye/ Animal+Human. Except when Pinpoint is set.Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 is the obvious choice for someone who is moving up from a compact camera, as it's very compact, affordable, and constant aperture, but it doesn't go quite as wide. If you don't mind the weight, Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 is a slightly better lens for a lot more weight, and that will match the RX100's 24-70mm equivalent. Well I guess as a first pdaf try it will be behind competition (but doesn't mean it will be bad). It is pretty narrow minded what you're saying about people/youtubers pointing that out. It's like "My pana is the holy grail, no one should be allowed to say something bad about it even if it is". Great, we need more of these mind sets to grow in society. Now I was about to get into a technical discussion and they still don't talk and instead engage in whataboutism (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism). As I mentioned earlier, the Panasonic Lumix S5IIX has a newly designed 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor. That’s the same resolution as the Panasonic Lumix S5 but like the S5II, the S5IIX has phase detection pixels on the sensor. This means that S5II and S5IIX have a hybrid focusing system that uses both phase detection and contrast detection. It’s a welcome arrival and something that videographers have been asking for from Panasonic for a long time. Brand fanatics are pretty silly these days. I haven't seen any camera made in a long time that I wouldn't love and be amazed by. Sony? Amazing. Fuji? Amazing. Olympus? Amazing. Nikon? Amazing. Canon? Amazing. Panasonic? Amazing.

S5IIX and LUMIX S5II Information Update | Panasonic LUMIX S5IIX and LUMIX S5II Information Update | Panasonic

The LUMIX S5IIx will be available from June 2023 as a body only, as well as S 20-60mm lens kits and S 20-60mm with S 50mm F1.8 Twin lens kits. This won't be available until June 2023 - with only a few key feature differences between them, you can decide if you want to buy the S5II now or wait until the S5IIx. All cameras regardless of Price aren't 100 percent accurate on AF. So when I hear any ytuber claiming otherwise, I no longer will watch them. Be that Pros or otherwise. I have seen plenty of Flagship cameras missing Focus on a ton of different subject types. Regardless of whom is holding and using the Camera. The S5 IIX will offer a broader range of video capabilities than any of the other current models, at a lower introductory price than either the Sony or Canon offerings. When [Thermal Management] is set to [STANDARD], recording stops once the continuous recording time exceeds 30 minutes.

Image quality is broadly comparable, with the Sony offering slightly better detail capture at low ISO but slipping a little behind in low light conditions. The Sony offers the most impressive battery life but also the weakest rolling shutter performance in video, making it more difficult than ever to choose between the four cameras.

TechRadar Panasonic Lumix S5 II review: time to switch? | TechRadar

This camera for me lets me cross off the Canon R6ii and the Sony a7iv. So it's the only camera currently in the running to get my money in 2023. Don't need a flagship camera, for 99.9% of the things I shoot. Class leading IBIS in a Full Frame camera is priceless. The ability to worry less about Color Grading for Video is priceless for many hobbyist. Despite the familiar appearance, a lot has been redesigned or reworked. The most significant change is the addition of the fan to the camera's viewfinder hump. This is central to the camera's promises of video endurance, but is designed not to undermine the body's weather sealing. Not really. ProRes / ProRes RAW costs extra licensing fees for the manufacturers. That's why most cameras which do that costs more than the S5M2. It is basically included in the S5M1 but for that model they didn't need to pay for PDAF, teherefore they could afford it.Panasonic’s use of phase detection as well as contrast detection focusing in the Lumix S5IIX and S5II is very welcome. It enables a significant step up in the autofocus performance in comparison with the company’s previous cameras that rely exclusively on contrast detection. Or answer the question of how Sony will solve its stabilization problem in the future with its small mount.
