About this deal

The moth you are targeting is not one of the Moths mentioned above. You may like to view our guide on Identifying Clothes and Carpet Moths. We recommend that you place your clothes moth traps 3 to 6 feet above floor level either hanging in closets or on shelves. Look for where you see adult moths and that will give you an idea of where to target your placement of the moths pheromone traps. If you have only caught one moth so far that could be good news and means that you do not have an infestation, but it could also be that it is due to where the moths are currently in their breeding cycle and therefore active adult moths are not flying around at this time. In the unusual event where delivery is repeatedly refused or no effort is made to accept delivery, we reserve the right to pass delivery and return courier costs to the customer.

In less common cases you may have the White Shouldered House Moth (Endrosis sarcitrella) or the Brown House Moth (Hofmannophila pseudospretella). Search for moth traps and you may find a few different items so lets just clarify what we are talking about. You may possibly find a moth light trap, which is a large item designed for outdoor use for moth enthusiasts to collect and collate information on different moth species in the area; this is definitely not the moth trap we are interested in here. There are 2,500 species of moth in the UK and only a few are responsible for destroying clothing. The moth trap we are discussing is for catching clothes moths inside the home. We call ours the Moth Box.We very much appreciate your ongoing custom and we hope we can continue to help you keep those moths at bay! If you are seeing moths flying around your home but not seeing any moths on the Traps it could be for the following reasons: I would definitely not want to put a fly trap in my bedroom or wardrobe. Moth traps use the specific pheromone to attract male clothes moths and are designed to fit neatly under furniture, exactly where the moths are likely to be. If you want to catch clothes moths, use a clothes moth trap! So weather patterns are key here - warmer States across the south of the US (think Florida across to Texas and then across to California) will be likely to see clothes moth activity all year round. In the northern states (Washington State across to New York), the cold winter temperatures delay pupation until the weather warms up in the spring - larvae will still be causing damage to clothing, particularly in centrally heated homes, but flying moths will only emerge with warmer temperatures. Silverfish are attracted to dark cupboards that you may use to store books that aren't being read, photograph albums, scrapbooks, cardboard, and other paper. It's a lovely location for silverfish since it's dark and humid, and there will be plenty of food for them.

It might be due to the stage of the moth life cycle where some larvae are still pupating. We are only at the start of the moth season and you may be seeing young adults and female moths but not the active adult males yet. Thank you for purchasing our Clothes Moth Traps and we are so sorry to hear about your moth problem, we completely understand how distressing this can be. As you have been using our Moth Traps for some time now, we would expect that the moths you are seeing are not adult male moths, which is a good thing! We know how distressing it is to discover your garments have been destroyed by Clothes Moths. The female moth will lay her eggs on a potential food source for when the larvae hatch. Animal based fibers such as wool are a perfect meal for the larvae. It is important to understand that to get rid of moths naturally will take longer than using pesticide treatments but can be done with patience. If there are only adult clothes or pantry moths flying in your home, then moth traps will likely achieve this over time as they take the male moths out of the breeding cycle and reduce the population progressively. However, if you have damage to clothing or home textiles, or an infestation in your pantry, you will need to take fast action on clearing out and treating infested clothing or foods, and then thoroughly cleaning the location of the infestation to eliminate any remaining eggs or larvae. Continue to defend through the use of moth traps and natural repellents. If you need to get rid of moths naturally when your carpets that have been infested, consider use of our natural carpet moth killer kits. What temperature kills clothes moths? Thank you for sharing your map paper moths DIY at Create, Bake, grow & Gather this week. I'm delighted to be featuring them at the party tonight and pinning too. Despite being constantly handled, folded, and unfolded, many old road maps will last for years. It’s because of the paper they were printed on; this paper is often a kind of linen/cloth paper. The paper’s quality is why old maps are great for crafting. Clothes Moth Traps are the ideal starting point, especially as they give you a clear idea of how bad the infestation is and whether you are seeing success (a reduced daily catch rate over time is good news!).
