About this deal

Another issue is the throttle itself. It isn't bad per se but its design does mean that it is rather limited (especially when dealing with twin engine aircraft). These days, even entry level HOTAS setups really should be twin throttle at a minimum. Ergonomics*: some of the buttons are not placed well for long term usage. It's ok if you just need to hit every minute or so, but not as a 2 minute+ toggling spree. The hat controls on both controls are placed slightly out of alignment with my hands so that constant usage starts to hurt the thumb for both hands. The throttle is a bit better placed but sometimes difficult to move the 2 smaller hats due to tight spaces. The X52 feels much more "natural". This is my -1 reason for not being 5-stars I play Elite Dangerous and thinking of buying Star Citizen. I like all the switches and knobs of the x56 but it is my first so I am a bit reluctant to pay the higher price. Logitech X56 has two rotary knobs on the throttle’s base that, like its dials, can be mapped to anything. However, we couldn’t find any real benefit in doing so. The X56 ghost key. The easiest fix is to use a powered USB 2 Hub, not a 3 or 3.1. The next easiest solution if you want to keep using a powered USB3+ hub, or want to direct connect directly to the PC, is to turn the lights off on the X56. Just drag the brightness down to 0 on all three colors. It generally fixes the issue. It is best to simply not use unpowered hubs at all.

degrees of freedom. In modern space sims with more dynamic spacecraft physics, control is more complex. And much different than in traditional atmosphere-based flight simulations. Read Related Article: Logitech Harmony 700 Review – A Deep Dive What We Don’t Like About Logitech X56 I did a bit of a research. 1st i wanted to buy Saitek Pro Flight X56 Rhino or Saitek X52 Pro but i saw people are complaining about poor quality. The RGB lighting is the most aesthetically pleasing feature of Logitech X56. You can set it to match, complement, or contrast to the color of your gaming keyboard, making for a beautiful setup. There is the potential that all this can get confusing, but once you've got yourself all mapped out and are used to it, the Raptor Mach 2 is a dream. It's a really smooth, sturdy piece of kit despite not being as heavy as its sister, the Raptor Mach 1. Summary: The controls and capability of this unit is unbelievable for the price. It's a great alternative to the higher tier ones out there at a cost of plastic (this unit) vs metal. Looks great, thats all it has going for it. Hat switches and other knobs are sloppy, location of certain buttons could be better, The X52 Pro , on the other hand is excellent in all respects . all knobs and hat switches are constructed very well and in much better user friendly locations. Moving on to the Logitech X56 H.O.T.A.S.: it was loved by Windows Central and PC Gamer - two reliable sources that conduct their own in-depth testing. In fact, it was named "Good value full HOTAS setup" and "Ranked 2 out of 7" in their respective roundups, which points to it being a product worthy of consideration.

Sure it's not as highly modular as some, but this is a really professional-feeling yoke. For half a grand, this is a super-premium price, but there's hardly a thing about this yoke that feels out of place. It's honestly no wonder Boeing wanted their name on it. Desk requirement: The bases are much larger than prior generations, likely to just provide stability/support but is hollow for the most part. People complain a lot about this online about "wasted space" but in reality it's providing torque resistance when on a desk from the push/pull. When on a mount, yes it likely is problematic and overkill. So there's not a huge number of handy buttons, but on the base, there is not only a great deal to make up for it (including ones dedicated to flaps and throttle), but there's also the option to mode switch up to two levels with two functional modes and button shift. This gives the Raptor Mach 2 an edge, despite the buttons being a little awkward to get to if you've got your hands full, achieve 29 programmable actions The throttle is also super tight for a while, I've had mine for a few months and the resistance is where I want it now but I did have to break it in first and turn the resistance down as far as I could.

On the other hand, the T16000M throttle does not have the benefit of a centre detent, ehich would be my only real wish for as an improvement. Military-grade Space and Flight Sim Precision. Customizable options including all the control surface options required to achieve the exact level of performance that aspiring combat pilots demand.System Requirements : Windows 11,10,8.1,7, 2x USB 2.0 Port Similarly, we found that the conical hat above the d-pad style is positioned just a little too far for the thumb, so we didn’t use it much. The thumb trigger which sat next to it was also difficult to reach. With button configuration and layout vitally important for many games; this is especially true for flight and space simulators. A lot of gamers enjoy having a separate control for throttle as it offers more versatility, and extra speed, at your fingertips. Ideal for VR: The X-56 places controls perfectly under your fingers where subtle distinctions in button feel and shape help you navigate the control set with ease

If you've no experience with this type of peripheral before then it'll take some getting used to, but boy oh boy does it excel when it feels natural. It has 55 reprogrammable buttons and switches, which is an astounding amount when you consider the fact a standard controller has what, less than 20? it may be a good idea to monitor the 5v rail in bios for volts drop or spikes if happerning across multiple titles (ideally should be smooth) I got really excited that trying to the 'no LED color' idea suggested above was going to work.....sadly can confirm, same results. And honestly, I've had this thing set up and running fine for literally an entire year before these issues happened, so I'm doubting a powered hub would solve them. It's great to see cross-compatibility with the Xbox Series X/S, although the Xbox branding does pull away from the authentic look a little. It's an easy thing to overlook, but it would be better if it was optional to have your switches marked X, Y, A, and B. The downside to having a detached throttle is that they’re generally more expensive. Although bear in mind that they aren’t just great for strictly aircraft games, or flight or space simulators; they can also work for a wide range of games, such as some FPSs where you might jump into a jet or helicopter.

Upgrade the VR gaming experience with the re-emerging space simulation genre and the advanced X56 HOTAS. After testing, using, and reviewing, (ok, weeks of fun gaming!) taking into consideration the most important features, we’ll make our final verdict. Who’s It For?
